In the previous decades there had gender discrimination between men and women. Men had given more power and opportunities rather than women. Women even did not have more political rights as like men. Men had dominated in every field like at work, at school, at sports, in the music and many others. Men were considering just an able person in the society and the people think that without men nothing is possible to do. Why women had not given opportunities as like men? It is simple to answer that there had men dominated society. Women want equal opportunities however, people had just ignored them. They never felt independent. Nevertheless, whatever the situation they had deal with in the past have all gone now. Women in this generation have proved that they are equally capable of doing whatever men do. Clock is not stable likewise there had a time for women who were struggling to get equal right and opportunities. However, it was impossible for them to get it right away. Lately, they had an opportunity to go at school and universities which had made huge difference for them. Women are now able to challenge men in every field. Why women did not able to take competition with men in the past? The reason might be that most women were very illiterate and depend more on men. Neither they send to school nor were they taught primary education at home. They had compelled to work in the kitchen and take care of the family by providing delicious food. Just Boys were sent to school and girls had responsibility to take care of them. Girls had no option rather than to watch boys going to school. Most girls have to work at home. They had a lot of things to do to make their parent happy. Girls when grown up, they have to get merry. After having married, they have very hard time to get education. One reason that married women had more responsibility to take care of the family and home. Second, when they have kids, they always busy to take care of them. Also; they were equally responsible to fulfill all demands of their kids. While it is interesting to see the progress of women in this modern society, they have a good education and they represent everywhere where men do. For instance, Hilary Clinton is the woman who is the secretary of the state in US. Florence nightingale is the founder of modern nursing. Junko tabei was the first lady who climbs the world’s highest peak (the Mount Everest). Above are just some examples. Women are taking responsibility of the top positions at work as well. Earlier this year, women became the majority of the workforce in the U.S. history. Most managers are now women too. And for every two men who get a college degree, three women will do the same. For years, women’s progress has been cast as a struggle for equality. Now people have more faith and believe on women. They have fabulous record at work because they have shown good character and have honesty, sincerity, and punctuality. Today’s work force has roughly equal numbers of men and women: 53% men and 47% women. However, the distribution of men and women in specific careers is not nearly as balanced. In previous decades, this was mostly due to barriers to entry and unequal opportunities for women. Today, women have more equal opportunities to pursue the education and career of their choice. Women are totally independent now so they are openly taking competition each other. men and women have close competition everywhere. Women are more independent now In conclusion women who were treated with full of discrimination in the past have shown full of confidence, courage, and power to get success in a similar fashion like men. They have proved everything wrong to those who had a negative aspect towards them in the past. Men and women are like the two side of the same coin and have supposed to have equality since this world established. Unfortunately, the thing had not happened the same. People had separated them into two phases and granted more power and opportunities to men. While, in the other hand they put down the women. Nevertheless, it is glad to see women came out strongly from that dominance with brave, confidence and hunger of success.

Women today have the right to get a higher education if they want; they are in high ranking positions within our government and military. Women today are not looked at as just a house wife, in today’s trend we are seeing more and more men staying home to run the household. Women today also do not just have jobs in a so called “women’s job”, for example if a women wants to be a welder, or a mechanic she can be. Those are two jobs that when people picture that worker it is usually a man but not anymore. Even though women have made a lot of changes the biggest thing that they are fighting for now is equal pay. A lot of the jobs tend to pay women less money than men. Female business majors, for example, earned a little over $38,000, while men earned more than $45,000 (Ellis, 2012).You see a lot of concepts or constructions of masculinity and femininity in media but not so much in society. The media has a lot for commercials that can be focused on gender related products. Even though the product is mad for a man you will not see a woman as the character in the advertising and the same for women. Now society on the other hand has evolved so that there are not gender specific roles, as a large amount of women have what was once a man’s job such as an engineer or a firefighter. When we refer to what society has deemed gender specific that is hard as the lines are somewhat blurred because gender does not play as much…

Women today in 2016 couldn’t last two minutes living the life of a woman in the 1900s. 100 years ago, females were known as the weaker gender but more virtuous and were not allowed to do anything unless they had a husband. They didn’t have any rights, authority, or opinion about ANYTHING! It was illegal for women to do a lot of things, and here we are 100 years later, we can do whatever we want, when we want, however we want without anyone’s permission. To sum things up, a woman is her own boss and controls everything in her life. She can follow her dreams without anyone stopping her and a woman can make her own decisions. Everything…

Gender inequality has effected people all through time. In example, it wasn’t until the 1920’s that women could vote in the U.S. Women have long been considered less than their male counterparts. Only recently have women put a dent in the extreme patriarchy that has existed all through history. Today, women still are of unequal representation, pay, and rights across the globe. For example, in the U.S. today, there is an average pay gap of 77% (as of 2009). This means women earn 77 cents to a man’s dollar as pay for the same positions. This is one example of how inequality lingers in modern day first world countries.…

“The woman shall vindicate their birthright for all women; who shall teach them what to claim, and how to use what they obtain?” (Fuller 747). This line by Margaret Fuller expresses to women that she has high hopes for our future. Fuller tells us there will be a woman who teaches us that it is ok to express ourselves and use our creativity. Misericordia University is a good example of how women have gained more power over the years. The university has a higher female to male ratio and has many females excel in a health science major. This is because more women are now allowed to use their creativity and express themselves. Women are now allowed to become doctors and other high paying professionals. These women now have the tools and knowledge to achieve their dreams. With the help of technology and allowing women to work to pay for their schooling they are now going to become more knowledgeable. Women can and will have more opportunity with a better…

Traditional gender roles have existed for many centuries. Throughout the history of humanity among various cultures and eras, there are pieces of evidence and traces of unfair treatment of women. Women have a role of a wife waiting for her husband to return from the war, a mother of the conquering hero or a great scientist, or a daughter who is destined to marry the prince of another country in order to consolidate the alliance between the two countries. Life of a woman was determined by the man, whether it be her father, husband or son. It is not surprising that such a position in society led women to fight. Starting with the suffragettes and finishing with the third wave, feminism has become an integral part of the society. Women opened…

It is visible to see that women have come a long way in our nation to now from the beginning of our construction. It was not easy, and many issues are still not completely solved, because of stereotypes and discrimination against women. Stereotypes such as “women are bad drivers” and “women should not be paid as much as men”. However, there are many organizations that have been founded and used to help in fighting against such discrimination, and help in supporting women in equal rights, in places, such as the workplace and society in general. When our country was first forming, women were unable to vote for a very long time after it was decided they could not. They also had were expected to play certain roles, such as staying at home to do the housework, take care of the children, clean, and cook. The strength of women “shined” through in the most visible way during WWII. Many women were obligated to maintain their usual roles, and do a lot of the work the men would be doing, because the men were away at war. Women were also not offered the educational benefits men were in our history also. It was pretty set in stone that the men were “the thinkers”, and that there was no need to educate women. It is much different now. Women are able to receive education just as easy as a man can, not to mention the laws that have been made to protect the equality rights of women and men. The roles in women have changed drastically. It is now “the norm” to see a woman with a career, and many that have families too. Many households now share all of the household responsibilities, and often time the finances too. However, not everyone agrees that this has been a positive step in our nation since the Civil Rights Act. Many people still believe a woman should stay home and continue the role that was planned for them in the first place. A major issue that raises these opinions is the amount of crime and problems our nation has with our…

Throughout most of history, women had fewer legal rights and career opportunities than men did. Women mostly had jobs as a seamstress or kept boarding houses, some of the women had the same jobs as men. For an example, according to “Women’s History in America” in 1890 a slim amount of the women were doctors, but 95% of doctors were men in the United States. Another example of what women were not allowed to do is vote, married women were not allowed to obtain property rights, if a couple happen to get a divorce woman had no parental rights, and women had to obey laws even though they had no say in the law in the first place. This is just a few of the many unequal things that happened to women. It is a turning point in women’s history…

Today’s society women are slowly acquiring power and knowledge. With this said they know their rights and wouldn’t allow it. If society were to go back to traditional gender roles more conflict that there is now will rise. Women gained their rights through the feminist’s movements in the 1970’s. It took women such a long time in order to give up their rights just like that. Especially now that women are educated the same as men, they are taught their rights in school. Women are trying to be equal to men and want the chance to prove that they can accomplish what men could, and even more in some cases.…

The reason for this could very well be that women fell like they have a lot to prove as opposed to men, who have always been “the bosses”. This easily leads to an upheaval in the roles of men and women, simply because the woman works harder on proving that they are just as capable to create a career as men. They are more motivated because of the former male dominance – which now seems to be…
