John Clark Monologue
A few minutes later, Jason walks over and stands in front of me at the Labrae table. He can see that I am bothered. His exterior has softened – a little. He asks why I was crying and I told him it was because of the way he talked to me and that I would not be able to get my doughnuts out on time. But there was more to it than that: I was worried that he would unfairly use this incident as an opportunity to support his claim that I could not “cut it” as a baker. Jason tends to embellish situations where I am involved and then tries to badger me into admitting his inflated version. He does this by pushing his face and shoulders forward and saying things like, “Hu . . .Hu” . . . so you did do [such and such.]” or “so you did not do [such and such.]” I’ve often told him that he is “putting words in my mouth” …show more content…
Thus, part of what Jason was saying came in bits and pieces. One thing I do remember him saying, however, was “baby steps.” This was one of his most common and confusing comments to me. For the most part when he says it, I feel as if he is using it as a teaching analogy, to help me “grow” or better myself, so that I can achieve greater successes. But every now and then, it appears that he is using it in a condescending manner, as if to imply that he has to take things easy on me, or make it simple. I remember too that he brought up about the peas that I had spilt on the floor and reprimanded me for “[leaving] the mess for someone else to pick up! I managed to tell him – through my tears -that I thought he was being mean and disrespectful to me. I could tell by his body language that this made him mad. He tried to turn it around on me, saying,
“Yeah like the way you talk to me.” He said this while waving his hand if front of his face (palm side forward) and claiming that I said “F … you” to him. I was stunned to hear him say that. I had never said such

    The Box Man Analysis

Jason goes off by himself and looks at the roll of paper he sneaked into his backpack. We see a quick glimpse that they are some sort of blueprints. He hears someone approaching him and quickly stuffs the blueprints back into his backpack. The driver from the heist comes to talk to him. He tells him that he was glad that Jason lived up to his reputation of being one of the quickest boxmen in the business. Jason responds that he is not in the business, he is just doing what he has to. This is where we learn that Jason was forced to do this because he broke into the boss’ house to try and make some money. The boss caught him and was about to kill him when he realized that he broke into his high security safe with great ease. He allowed him to live but he would have to be his new “boxman.” This last heist was Jason’s first on the team. Jason looks somewhat somber after telling this story. The driver tells him not to feel bad about breaking into the vault, the people who owned it were corrupt and the police were trailing them anyway. He tells Jason that they are like Robin Hood, except that they keep money. After the team is done celebrating, they all go their spate ways with their shares of the money.…

In the small, peaceful village of Rhinebeck, where tourists and travelers from all over the country venture through, a wooden cottage stood just off of Main Street. Within the cottage lay a middle aged man by the name of John Edelman. His short, scruffy beard had begun to remodel itself into a plain of grey, and his once youthful olive skin had turned pale with creases around his eyes and mouth. Most villagers, if asked about John, would have nothing but positive remarks. Kind, quiet, and caring, he often engaged in projects to improve the community, and had come to the aid of many friends.…

Because Jason is not entered into the play until far into the plot, the audience has a biased opinion of him from the start. This time allows for other characters to depict him as they see, without Jason there to defend himself. After reading the first few pages of the play, we already have a bias against Jason and believe he is immoral. These beliefs are predominantly based on the statements of the nurse and the tutor. He is depicted by the nurse as a man that has betrayed his family, “Jason has betrayed his on sons and my mistress” (Lines 16-17). This line provokes the audience and turns them away from Jason.…

Saying that is a bad word and that that hurts people’s feelings didn’t work and he continued to keep saying it. Eventually I overcame that frustration, by telling him to say that is silly instead. Thankfully, he did start using that instead. A breakthrough, I faced this semester, was working with teachers who couldn’t discipline so I had to start being more strict, but, therefore, I became better at disciplining.…
