It was dark and eerily quiet. That was strange for the man walking on the sidewalk. His name is John Constantine. John is an exorcist, demonologist, and master of the dark arts.
At least that's what it says on his cards. What it left out was that he works for God himself. He’s been trying to combat what God calls the rising darkness. So far he’s faced demons, a necromancer, a satanist, vengeful spirits, a witch, the true reason as to why God caused the flood, a sister of Eve, a fallen angel, an evil sorcerer, the undead, other humans, and a cult or two.
Right now John is on his way back from drowning his sorrows and memories

"Bloody hell." Was the only thing he could bring himself to say before he started to rapidly chant an incantation that tore the demon out of the mare's body and sent it flying out of her body as she passed out on the ground. The yellow pony girl seemed too shocked to do anything but her pink friend wasn't. The pink pony girl charged him. Thanks to his drunkenness he managed to stumble out of the way of the tackle.
"Hey thunder tits! Try this on for size!" he shouted as he charged the mare only for her to get a punch in. The second her fist connected with him the mare realized something was horribly wrong as she was launched backwards into her friends as the demon was kicked out of her body. The yellow pony flew at John only for him to duck right at the last second. She shot over him but flew around to make another fly by only for the orange pony to tackle him while he was distracted.
John rode the momentum of the fall and rolled back and ended up on top of the mare he threw punch to her jaw followed by another one only for it to be blocked. She flung him off of her with amazing

The American baseball player and coach John Wooden once said, “It’s the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen”. In the nonfiction novel Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, Louis Zamperini demonstrates his cleverness when he pulled himself out of countless life-threatening situations, such as devising a plan to capture sharks, that would prove to be the end for most others. Louie made the most out of what little resources he had and paid attention to the details that would help him in the future. Even in the grips of death, Louie used his quick wit to bring himself back to the land of the living and keep himself going.…

Merriam-Webster defines hero as a person who is admired for his great acts or fine qualities and is greatly admired. In the Iliad, there are numerous examples of characters acting heroically. However, there are some cases where they don't act like a hero. In adventure writer Homer’s epic poem the Iliad, he contradicts about what is considered a hero, specifically that Achilles is not an epic hero because he is not brave, does not follow war code, and breaks cultural values.…

“Why should they be afraid of us? We aren’t hurting them,’ she broke in. “I’m not sure that I know why,’ I told her. ‘But they are. It’s a feel-thing not a think-thing. And the more stupid they are, the more like everyone else they think everyone ought to be. And once they get afraid they become cruel and want to hurt people who are born different” And God created man in His own image. And God decreed that man should have one body, one head, two arms and two legs: that each arm should be joined in two places and end in one hand: that each hand should have four fingers and one thumb: that each finger should bear a flat finger-nail…” “And any creature that shall seem to be human, but is not formed thus is not human. It is neither man, nor woman. It is a blasphemy against the true image of God, and hateful in the sight of God.” “The more complex they made their world, the less capable they were of dealing with it. They had no means of consensus. They learnt to co-operate constructively in small units; but only destructively in large units. They aspired greedily, and then refused to face the responsibilities they had created. They created vast problems, and then buried their heads in the sands of idle faith.” "I was a normal boy, growing up in a normal way, taking the ways of the world for granted... It is hindsight that enables me to fix that as the day when my first small doubts started to germinate." "The ways of the world were very puzzling..." "They could never have succeeded. If they had not brought down Tribulation which all but destroyed them; then they would have bred with the carelessness of animals until they had reduced themselves to poverty and misery, and ultimately to starvation and barbarism. One way or another they were foredoomed because they were an inadequate species." “I shall pray to God to send charity to this hideous world, and sympathy for the weak, and love for the unhappy and unfortunate. I shall ask Him if is indeed His will that a…

    Oedipus Creon Quotes

In the play OEDIPUS THE KING BY SOPHOCLES, Oedipus is almost dependent on his brother in-law and fellow ruler Creon. “O King Apollo! May Creon bring us good fortune and rescue, bright as the expression I see on his face” (SOPHOCLES 8). This quote demonstrates the truth that Oedipus is mostly dependent on Creon. He sends Creon to seek answer from the God Apollo, to find answers to the death of the city Thebes. Oedipus’s reliance on Creon for answers emphasizes both his blindness, impotence, and lack of strength that a king should pose. Oedipus lacks self-reliance and serves as a character who suffers a terrible faith. “Is that what you say? I charge you now to carry out the articles of the proclamation you made. From now on do not presume to speak to me or to any of these people. You are the murderer; you are the unholy defilement of this land” (SOPHOCLES 21). This quote emphasizes on the idea that no matter how much Oedipus kept the secret from others, he was destined to live and suffer the outcomes of his fate.…
