John Doe
John Doe's priorities are improved salary/wages as well as a safe environment, job security and good relationships with his supervisors and coworkers. To tackle the salary and job security aspect, I would look into projects that the company needs to complete in his field of work. I would then allow John to create teams for each project. Which would entail selecting suitable candidates for each team as well as setting goals and managing the team members. For the relationship aspect,I would offer one on one time with John to discuss goals and needs for himself. The meetings would be bi-weekly to allow him to critique his goals if need be and obtain a good relationship with me as his supervisor. To work on the co-worker relationships, i would schedule monthly team building exercises that would allow the employees to get to know each other better. Which would then allow him to feel safe in the work environment knowing he is closer to co-workers, instead of feeling like he's around strangers. …show more content…
To tackle the challenging work as well as the authority and independence aspect, I would create weekly goals or tasks that would increase in difficulty after each goal/tasks is accomplished. As well as allow her the freedom to select teams for company projects, if any. Being in charge of a team would also provide her with managing skills that would be needed in order to move up. For the knowledge and advancement aspect i'd research possible college programs that are provided by the company, if any, and insist she attends classes on order to further her education which will allow her to gain more knowledge. Which would also allow her to reach the requirements for higher positions in a shorter time

    * 1. Look over the scope statement (PE Figure 4-1). If you were an employee at Petrie’s Electronics, would you want to work on this project? Why or why not? The project scope statement is to describe a high level overview of the project size, duration, and outcomes as a summary of the baseline project plan (BPP) information. A project scope statement and a baseline project plan are created during project initiation and planning…

There’s something ahead of her that she should strive to achieve and she did not depend only to the past. She didn’t let her emotions weaken her; and lastly, integrity, because high-integrity leaders like her doesn’t blame others and/or take the blame herself, they own the situation and all its outcomes. Like for example, after all the circumstances they went through, she doesn’t blame them for being weak or not being wise to fight those who are after them. There’s no blaming or fighting within their team, they know from their selves that in this task given to them they would have to take risk even their lives, ‘cause there’s no backup. And high-integrity leaders ensure their actions are seen as trustworthy and create a sense of certainty rather than uncertainty. Her team trusts her very well in all the decisions even though it’s a risk-taking decision. She also adopts the Theory Y model because she doesn’t push her team to do a specific task during their search for the cure. She lets them do what they can do for the accomplishment of the task…

John Wallis was born at Ashford on November 22, 1616, and died at Oxford on October 28, 1703. He was educated at Felstead school, and one day in his holidays, when fifteen years old, he happened to see a book of arithmetic in the hands of his brother; struck with curiosity at the odd signs and symbols in it he borrowed the book, and in a fortnight, with his brother's help, had mastered the subject. As it was intended that he should be a doctor, he was sent to Emmanuel College, Cambridge, while there he kept an ``act'' on the doctrine of the circulation of the blood; that was said to have been the first occasion in Europe on which this theory was publicly maintained in a disputation. His interests, however, centred on mathematics.…

The first step that needs to take place in order for her to be productive is to counsel her on the work assignments she has and advise her that her performance is inadequate. I would explain to her the reasons why her work is inadequate. Specifically state what she is doing and what is unacceptable about the work she is providing. Also let her know what is expected of her in the future after having this discussion. Last but not least provide a clear warning that a failure to correct performance deficiencies will result into termination. After I have explored informal ways to address her performance issues, and have documented my counseling sessions with her, I will provide her with a more formal method which would be an opportunity to improve. If she…

Andrew Jackson became the nation’s seventh president in 1829. He made significant changes in American politics at that time. He was very popular with the people because of the fact that he was a hero of the War of 1812. He had also served in the senate and was a tough man who had manifested the spirit of the frontier. One change Jackson brought about was the steadily increasing power of the west. He happened to be the first president to come from the west of the Appalachians and was also the start of a new era of democracy in American politics. President Jackson did not approve of a overpowering or controlling federal government. He felt the national government should be the least involved as possible as he vetoed many acts of congress in his term as president. He believed that the state should build the road and not the national government. Jackson’s idea of a limited government shared the beliefs of many Americans who feared the power of the federal government. Although many crisis did occur during Jackson's term as President like the Nullification Crisis, Indian Removal Act and the Bank War, Jackson was always a supporter of a limited federal government.…

Nobody understands why Mustapha Mund would let such a creature into our society. This “boy” was born out of a mother in the reservation. This has bad news written all over it! Just because his father was the D.H.C. it does not mean that he should get special treatment. This outsider to society should be placed back into the reservation immediately and his mother should be killed! His mother, who grew up in the New World should have known better than to have a child. Having John living in this society which just causes people to ask questions they should not be asking. Also, more people will now want to visit the reservation which is an extremely awful idea because of the painfully memorable images that people will see there. Our society as of now is perfect and it does not need an outsider with unorthodox views to come destroy it. John Savage, Linda Savage, and Bernard Marx should be permanently exiled back to the reservation. Peoples who compromise thesocial stability of the New World need to be terminated as soon as possible. Everybody should go meet him and then realize that he just does not have a place in our society. Night John

Sarny, a 12-year-old slave girl in the ante-bellum south, faces a relatively hopeless life. Her chief duties at the plantation of Clel Waller are serving at table, spitting tobacco juice on roses to prevent bugs, and secretly conveying intimate messages between Waller 's wife, Callie, and Dr. Chamberlaine. Then Nightjohn arrives. A former runaway slave who bears telltale scars on his back, he takes Sarny under his wing and, in exchange for a pinch of tobacco, secretly begins to teach her to read and write a crime punishable by death. "Words," he says, "are freedom. Slavery is made of words: laws, deeds, and passes." He starts by drawing letters in the dirt and cautions her that no one must know. At her baptism, Sarny steals a Bible that belongs to Waller 's son, Jeffrey, and practices reading by lantern-light in the slave quarters. The same Bible serves another purpose when, on a blank page taken from it, Nightjohn forges a pass for Outlaw, a young slave, to use in escaping to freedom in the North with his beloved Egypt, a slave on another plantation. Waller finds the Bible and demands to know who stole it. Delie, who cared for Sarny as a child, fears for her now and accepts the blame. However, Nightjohn forestalls the lashing Delie is to receive, saying he is the one, for he can read. He tries to run away but is caught and his hand is tied to a chopping block. With an ax, Waller delivers the severing blow, exacting the brutal penalty for Nightjohn 's literacy. As he is dragged off to be sold, he tells Sarny, "When they cut off one hand, the other hand grows stronger." The historical references used in the movie were accurate in a sense that if Sarney were a real person she would have experienced life just as he described it. His portrayal of an abusive slaveholder and the forbiddance of an education to slaves are mostly correct when comparing it to the narrative of Fredrick Douglas’ experiences. Although Gary Paulsen may have exaggerated at times, I feel as if his…
