person to be elected as president in U.S. history. As a young boy, Kennedy had an elite
education and was born into one of the wealthiest families in the U.S. In 1946, he ran
for congress and won and became a senate in 1952. He is considered one of the best
presidents in U.S. history because of how he handled the cold war, Cuban missile

After he graduated, he became his dad’s secretary and his dad was the
ambassador of GB. After that he signed up for the Navy in 1941 and was struck by a
Japanese airplane and he helped his crew and was awarded a medal of heroism. After
the Navy, he joined politics and then became the first catholic president in the U.S.
During Congress, he would be reelected twice and was accepted into the house
of representatives and then married Jackie Lee Bouvier. Couple years later, he would
have to get surgery on his back.
After he recovered he announced that he was going to run for president. He would
defeat the Liberal candidate Hubert Humphrey and would be a running mate With
Lyndon Johnson. JFK would have run against Richard Nixon. JFK knew it would be
difficult because Nixon was in politics longer than Kennedy. Kennedy won the election
by 120,000 votes and that’s how he would became the youngest president and the first
Roman Catholic president.
Kennedy had two children when he was inaugurated. Kennedy was inaugurated
on January 20, 1961. Many people thought that Kennedy would at least stop the cold
war but he slowed it down and handled it professionally. In one of Kennedy’s foreign
policy, he would send 1,400 CIA trained Cuban Exiles to overthrow the communist
leader, Fidel Castro. The mission failed because almost all of the exiles were captured
or killed. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, JFK met with the president of The USSR to
discuss the about the cold war and the Berlin wall. When Kennedy heard about the
missiles he quickly sent a blockade around Cuba and had another discussion with
Khrushchev and they both agreed to dismantle the missiles from Cuba and Turkey.
During Kennedy’s administration, he would undergo difficult situations and would
have to solve the problem slowly but would soon be resolved. Kennedy would also had
to help out with the Civil rights movement. He would also calm things down up north but
there was still violence down south. Kennedy would always have to send U.S. Marshalls
down south so that everything could be in order. JFK would also come up with the idea of sending the first man to the moon and
he accomplished that and gave his famous moon speech. Kennedy would accomplish
so many things in his presidency and that’s what makes him one of the most loved
presidents in U.S. history.
In November 22, 1963, While going through Dallas in a motorcade on his car. He
would get shot twice. One on the neck and the other on the head. which was fatal. He
was pronounced dead after arriving at a nearby hospital. The killer was Lee Harvey
Oswald. After he was caught he was going to be sent to jail but before he would get
there, he would get shot and killed by a nightclub owner. Nobody really knew if it
was
actually Oswald or not. There are many controversies that Oswald didn’t act alone.
Some say it was the KGB, KKK, even the U.S. government but Chief Justice Earl
Warren said that Oswald did act alone.
Kennedy was considered to be one of the best Presidents in the U.S. after all the
things he did to help America. The economy grew, people got more jobs, prices
dropped, etc. Kennedy did so many things to write himself down in history as a
significant figure and president.
