On December 30, 2015, I was assigned this case to follow up. This investigation involves Mr. Dondre Leak a seventeen year old T.C. Williams student. I am familiar with Mr. Leak and his prior runaway incident. I contacted Dondre’s mother Ms. Dahawn Leak and spoke to her by phone. She confirmed that they would be home all day and I agreed to follow up at their residence located at 443 North Armistead Street Apt#2. She reported that Dondre will be attending Second Chance as he does not want to go to school.…
North of the intersection, Brimley and McNicoll, resides a school called Agnes Macphail Public School. The school is named after Agnes Campbell Macphail, a Canadian politician who served as the first female Member of Parliament in the Canadian House of Commons. The school, founded in 1981, stood for many of the same things that Macphail did, including her commitment to greatness. Macphail, the MP, made ripples in equality and Canadian politics with her penal reforms , while Macphail the PS is one of several Toronto Gold Eco Schools and strives to give students access to educational technology and a plethora of extracurricular activities. I’ve been told that the school has an extensive amount of clubs for a school its size which yield back to…

On March 7th, 1980, two high school freshman were found smoking in the bathroom at Piscataway High School in Middlesex County, NJ. The students were escorted to the vice principal Mr. Choplick’s office. The defendant, TLO, who was one of the students that were caught smoking denied the accusation. Mr. Choplick inspected TLO’s purse and found a box of cigarettes. Afterward removing the box of cigarettes, he saw a pack of rolling papers. Mr. Choplick suspected that a closer examination of the purse may yield evidence of drug use and that a thorough inspection would be needed. After a thorough search, he found a small amount of marijuana, a pipe, a number of empty plastic bags, a large amount one dollar bills, an index card with a list of who…
Towson University was once known as the Maryland State Normal School for the instruction of teachers in 1864. Two years after being created in 1864 the school opened its doors with McFadden Alexander Newell being its president. Newell had goals to establish model schools for teachers to practice their skills and see first-hand how what they have learned worked on elementary students. Unfortunately, these practice schools were often across town because of space limitations.…
A seventeen-year old student at Central High School in Bristol, Virginia by the name of Suzie sent her boyfriend, Cyrus, inappropriate photographs of herself. Once the relationship ended Cyrus sent the photographs to upperclassmen boys at their high school. The boys are now noticing Suzie for ways that both Suzie as well as her parents are not okay with. To attempt to eliminate the problem Suzie’s parents included Mrs. Sheevers, the school Principal, in the problem. After Cyrus denied the accusation of sending out the photographs to other boys, Mrs. Sheevers commanded the school officer to search Cyrus’ phone for any trace of the pictures. Not finding the phone, the principal then searched Cyrus’ school locker where she found the phone with the pictures on it. In response to this Cyrus was then suspended for two weeks. Although the Virginia Statehouse Court and the Federal District Courts verdict was that the Bristol School District is not guilty, the appeal at the Supreme Court granted Cyrus a…
School: Fortunately, Radio was able to attend Hanna High School as an eleventh grade student. Similar to other involvements, people often criticized Radio for being involved with the school. Thankfully, the students of Hanna High School started to accept Radio for who was, and ignored the disability he had. This opportunity allowed Radio to learn new information, such as writing his name, and developing social skills. In addition, this opportunity allowed Radio to become more socially acceptable. For example, Radio was hall monitor in the school, and he was able to make announcement over the intercom. This was a wonderful opportunity for Radio, as he was able to make many new friends, and develop connections with Hanna High School.…

This brief is in regards to the Bristol School District and their policies. A seventeen-year old student, Suzie, attended Central High School in Bristol, Virginia. During Suzie’s relationship with her boyfriend, Cyrus, she sent him some very revealing photographs of herself. After their relationship ended, Cyrus forwarded some of the most revealing photos to upper classmen in the school. This began to draw unwanted attention to Suzie. It became such a disruption in the school, Suzie’s parents contacted the school principal, Mrs. Sheevers, and forced her to investigate and appeal the situation thoroughly. Principal Sheevers, then confronted Cyrus, who denied having and sending the photographs. Then Principal Sheevers sent the school’s security officer to find Cyrus’s phone to check it for the photographs. When Cyrus didn’t have his…
As a result of these practices some schools became synonymous with death and disease. When a smallpox epidemic struck Blue Canyon Day School located in the Navajo Nation, agency officials feared the death of children, knowing that if a child died at the school, the Navahos would immediately declare the building shinkie, or devil haunted, and remove their children. A shortsighted and expedient policy of filling schools beyond their intended capacity or overworking the children in manual work programs cost hundreds of students their lives as epidemics swept through dozens of schools (DeJong, 2007).…
We are very fortunate to have an alternative campus in our school district. Shannon High School is for students that have fallen behind in their credits, have dropped out of school and have decided to return to school, or feel like they do not fit in at one of our main traditional campuses. Shannon classes are small, and students have the opportunity to be successful and earn their high school diploma. Tammy Wright is one of the wonderful teachers at Shannon High School. Ms. Wright is a business and marketing teacher at Shannon as well as a school aged parent coordinator on campus. Furthermore, Ms. Wright serves as an advisor to the student organization, DECA. It was a pleasure to sit down with Ms. Wright and ask her a few questions about her…

83% of juniors at South St. Paul Secondary High School complain about their teachers, schoolwork, and the lack of a social life due to IB classes. On Thursday, the 11th grade students at South St. Paul High School all cheered and yelled as the bell rang at 2:35 for the day to be over and a three-day weekend to begin. As the students quickly rushed to their lockers, grabbed their backpacks and ran out the school, we overheard conversations of plans for the week. We stopped to speak to a girl clearly on a mission to get home. As we walked quickly behind her, she said loudly, “I’m sick and damn tired of all these people I just want to go home and watch Netflix for three days!” She then sped up and ran away from us.…
At 1:00 p.m. I entered into Evoline C. West Elementary school on Thursday, July 12 2012 for an interview with Mrs. Yolanda Lawrence. As I entered the classroom, I was greeted by Mrs. Lawrence, the head teacher in this classroom. Mrs. Lawrence has no assistant at this present because of it being in the summer. After I entered into the classroom, the entire class welcomed me with “hello Ms. Flournoy”. It made my day to see all of those smiley faces greeting me. This was a 2nd grade classroom which consisted of 17 students of which 8 were girls and 9 were boys. This interview and observation was a total of 2 hours long. During the observation of Mrs. Lawrence classroom, I noticed how the students flocked under Mrs. Lawrence as she started reading one their favorite books before they did their afternoon lesson. For some reason I got an excitement about doing this interview.…
