In John’s case it had hardened his voice and attitude towards others mainly from the regret of his own actions. John also had difficulty bringing up the issue of adultery in his life. seen when John was asked to say the ten commandments and forgot adultery. John’s regret made its appearance in the conversations with his wife, Elizabeth. John was very angry and frustrated with his past seen through his voice. Also john was very firm with Mary Warren, when he was trying to plead his case and convince mary to go back to the court with him. So
we see that the affair has hardened the relationships with John.
It was because of John’s affair with abigail that Elizabeth was accused of witchcraft. And eventually when John went to save her he ended up joining her because he also was accused of witchcraft. Most of these accusations were from abigail. Since abigail had tried to remove Elizabeth from John’s life it caused a further separation in between abigail and John. This also made a closer relationship for John and Elizabeth Because it made John have to fight for his wife. So because of abigail's attempt to ruin the marriage of john and elizabeth it eventually helped them to be closer than ever.
In Elizabeth’s case with john it caused miss trust and unsurety of John’s intentions for Elizabeth. This was displayed also through the argument of John and Elizabeth, when she asks John to go and tell that all of the witchcraft is fraud and he can prove it with what abigail said to him about witchcraft. But john refuses as he was alone with abigail. Causing a tough spot for their relationship as nothing can be proven. So Elizabeth is left in a position of harm that can only be saved by John. So in conclusion the experiences of john and abigail have shaped many relationships along the way.
