This is the first time in the movie where you can see a sense of relief from John Wick. Everything he has done up to this point since he buried his guns has been with anger and vengeance. However, Wick now shows a sense of sadness and longing for the one thing he truly cared about; his wife and their relationship together. The saddened tone of this scene is obviously showing his battle through his emotions. During the scene, he is standing in the ruins as rain is falling on him. This symbolizes his sadness and longing for his memories of his wife. His anger as shown through the fire has left but has now been replaced with sadness. Furthermore, the blackened remains of his burnt house symbolize a clean slate for him to put what has drawn him to his violence behind him. Although he is done with his previous life of killing, he still holds onto his love for his wife. As John is sifting through the rubble, he picks up a gold chain worn by his wife. Although he has put his life of killing behind him, he continues to hold his memory and love of his wife close. John Wick 2, although just another action movie for many, was actually a very good example of character development. As stated previously there are a plethora of scenes that exemplify his character development, but by far the three most important were the scene where he buries his guns, where his house burns down, and when he returns to the charred remains of his once beloved house. All in all, John Wick 2 was a stellar action movie, and if you look hard enough, a great example of character development as
