Abstract
This paper covers how Johnny the Bagger, an individual with down syndrome, left his personal signature on his occupation of bagging groceries. With grasping the incredible difference Johnny made I started to think how I could leave my own personal fingerprint on the customers to whom I come into contact with in my occupation. So I came up with the idea I would take them to lunch and build a great long lasting relationship with each customer!
Johnny the Bagger Working is something that is part of life for almost every American. It is what we do to provide for our families, better ourselves, and secure our future and retirements. But as we work to meet these crucial needs we should also impact the lives of the others of whom we work with and serve. As we know Johnny the Bagger made a huge difference in the lives of all his customers who came through his line. Johnny had a special quote for each day of the week that he would put into each customers bag at the grocery store he worked at. Before long Johnny’s line was three times that of anyone else’s in the store and they refused to move because they wanted his special quote of inspiration for the day. And the really special part of the story is that Johnny has down syndrome, but yet still found a way to put his personal signature on the job and create loyal customers who will always come back for more service. This is something I am inspired to do myself in my own occupation. I would like to leave my personal signature on the job and with customers as Johnny did, to create customer loyalty and better service. My current occupation for the past four years has been construction. Some may think of construction workers to be dirty, loud, rough, and not always the nicest of workers around. And in some cases this may be true, but my crew and I respect each homeowner
