Company Profile:
Johnson and Johnson is a US based multinational company which is a manufacturer of pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods , it emerged in 1886. Its the common stock component of the Dow industries . Its headquarters are in New Brunswick , New Jersey.
Its a huge company selling its products over nearly 250 countries worldwide.
Performance Management System:
PMS can be defined as a set of techniques and procedures for improving the overall organisational performance. It involves thinking through various facets of the performance including the identification of critical dimensions of performance, planning, reviewing and developing enhancing performance and related competencies It follows certain common basic steps to transform the individual and the team behaviour:
1. Identification of behavioral goals
2. Measurement of current behavior
3. Performing the Gap analysis
4. Closing the Gap
5. Monitoring
The company has designed its PMS based on its requirements and necessitites .
Mainly its PMS system comprises on two main factors that is of two dimensions Results and Leadership. These two dimensions are based On MBO framework and the Leadership Model.
The following diagram gives us a rough idea about the PMS systems: The New PMS Structure of Johnson and Johnson's has a great focus on conversations i.e communication within the organisation – it Conducts frequent but meaningful conversations that culture of high performance . There should be clear conversation between the employees and the manager . It consists of various factors such as :
