Heroes, are usually written in a way to put them in a more likeable and relatable light, to make the reader feel more attached to them, to want to be more like them. Not only does The Joker rob the bank, he does so in a way in which all his criminal accomplices murder each other one by one thinking that they’ll get a bigger cut if they do. From this scene you might think that the joker is motivated by money. However, that’s not true at all. He robbed the mobs bank so he can manipulate the mob as he pleases and cause more chaos and destructions, which he does later into the movie. The Joker displays qualities of the new type of villain authors/ directors like to use. The Joker’s method of terrorizing people is very strange. None of his actions are explained, which makes him incredibly mysterious. One example of his strangeness is his scars on the sides of his mouth. Each time he tells a different story of how he got them. He is a stock character, meaning there was no information on his origins, we, the audience, just knew what kind of character he was…obviously, completely insane. The Joker’s ways of attack are very strategic and clever. You, as the audience, never know what he will do next and whatever he does, he always makes you jump. His way of life is that with rules, life is boring.…

On the other hand in Batman the dark knight the “Joker” represent evil, chaos and anarchy, the Joker has no purpose in this movie but to create chaos in the city “Joker: Oh, you. You just couldn’t let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You are truly incorruptible, aren’t you? Huh? You won’t kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won’t kill you because you’re just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.” Here the Joker is expressing his feelings towards batman and he says that he does not want to kill batman because he’s having too much fun, meaning that he wishes to continue creating chaos in order for Batman can be there to stop him or interrupt him. This shows that the Joker only seeks chaos and destruction and represents darkness in “Batman the dark knight” such as the witches also represent darkness and chaos in “Macbeth”.…

The superhero universe is one that is vast and complex. Although my passion is helping others, if I could switch places with a superhero or villain of my choosing, I wouldn't hesitate to select a villain. More specifically, I would pick Harley Quinn. Although ostensibly, Harley is an obsessed psychopath who goes to great lengths just for her significant other, the Joker, her character goes much deeper. Harley, unlike most superheroes and villains, who are simply concerned with world domination or saving the world as a whole, is aware of social issues that are brought up today. For example, in one episode of the Batman television show, a police asks Harley to read him his rights in a sexual context, and she proceeds to teach him a lesson. Harley…

    Why Is Genghis Khan Bad

Many people see Genghis Khan as a violent and brutal person since he had destroyed many villages as well as people. However, I believe that Genghis Khan has done much more good than bad and therefore, I believe he was more of a hero than a villain. To start off, Genghis Khan created the largest empire that has ever existed and was able to unite nomadic tribes in Mongolia which was a huge accomplishment. On top of that, Genghis Khan would improve the cities and countries he would conquer and make it a much better place. For instance, when Genghis Khan went to China, he centralized the government there, modernized the tax system, and got the grand canal rebuilt. Similarly, when Genghis went to Russia, he improved a lot of things there as well.…

This type of villain also has something that most normal villains do not, and that is a well-defined set of morals and values. For Magneto these morals come in several different types. The first one is the felling of needing to save the mutants from a existence of second class citizenship or something even worse. This type of morality is usually thought of as being right. Saving a whole group of people from being persecuted. Because of the way that Magneto fells he has to handle this injustice is what gets him in…

In this closing scene of The Dark Knight, Gordon and Batman use cause and effect to justify lying to the general public about the events that took place that resulted in the deaths of five citizens of Gotham. Batman believes that if the word gets out that the Joker corrupted the once heroic police captain Harvey Dent, then all of the inspirational work Dent accomplished would stand for nothing. Batman further explains that the people deserve to have their faith rewarded, and therefore they must protect the reputation and overall image of the well-known known hero. Gordon has no choice but to go along with this logic, and in turn they choose to pin the murders on Batman and protect the honor of…

Costume designer Lindy Hemming described the Joker's look as reflecting his personality, in that "he doesn't care about himself at all"; she avoided designing him as a vagrant, but still made him appear to be "scruffier, grungier," so that "when you see him move, he's slightly twitchier or edgy."[20][31][31] Nolan noted, "We gave a Francis Bacon spin to [his face]. This corruption, this decay in the texture of the look itself. It's grubby. You can almost imagine what he smells like."[99] In creating the "anarchical" look of the Joker, Hemming drew inspiration from such countercultural pop culture artists as Pete Doherty, Iggy Pop, and Johnny Rotten.[100] Ledger described his "clown" mask, made up of three pieces of stamped silicone, as a "new technology," taking less than an hour for the make-up artists to apply, much faster than more-conventional prosthetics usually requires. Ledger also said that he felt he was barely wearing any make-up.[20][101]…

    Harvey Dent

He begins as the highest level with self-actualization where he can truly serve the will of the people and the law. But, the experience ultimately is too much for him to deal with. Above all, he has fought for the safety of himself and the people, but since he could not protect the one he loved, he cannot face losing anyone else thus his revenge leads to blood. The ideals he stood for go out the window and he punishes the wrong people. He is blind to morality after this tragedy. He has no distinction between right and wrong, a good person and an evil person. In this sense, Nolan wanted to show the audience how certain experiences affect people and no one can control every situation or circumstance. It all becomes luck and fortune which somebody like Harvey Dent cannot accept. Thus, because of these experiences of pain and regret, he cannot move on in his life and make the proper decisions of his rank and person. He falls and ultimately pays his own price by his flip of the…

He is not a villain in my opinion. People may believe that he went about conquering Europe for personal glory, but that is completely false. Many Frenchman did die in fact fighting for Napoleon, but they also fought for the ideas of the French republic, which is much more worth fighting for. A true villain is Hitler and his scheme of genocide against the Jews. Napoleon on the other hand, was the first leader to grant Jews equal rights as citizens, because of his belief of equality for all people. Europe was very anti-Semitic at the time, and the European monarchs were outraged, which I think makes Napoleon a very brave and admirable leader. I would very much rather to have lived under Napoleon in France where there was liberty and equality. I…
