Palliative care is care focused on the comfort of a person as well as overall quality of life. There are services offered to anyone coping with sudden loss and grief counseling is available. They also offer support for children through education provided to parents who are in search of proper ways to educate and speak with their children about death. The Joliet Area Community Hospice currently offers a Pet Loss Workshop and recently offered a Adult Grief workshop.
The JACH have two global measures. The two global measures include a level of 93.8% for Rating of Patient Care and a level rating of 91.0% of recommending the hospice service. JACH also has multiple composite measures that come from their surveys. Hospice team communications is at 85%, emotional and religious supports are rated at 97%, symptom help is 83%, on time care is 81%, respect is at 92% and training is at 77% levels.
