Jonathan Cain went through a crazy, musical life that was a whirlwind. This life was started on February 26, 1950. The mastery of the piano and accordion in his childhood enabled him to get the beat to write the beautiful lyrics in his masterpieces. He now has a lyrical poem based life that came from playing with many different bands. Two of those poems, from when he was with Journey, really stuck out to me with the meaning and beat to the song. Jonathan Cain has a great mind of poetry and the devices needed to be great at that specific art.
Jonathan Cain was born on February 26, 1950. The city at which he was born was Chicago, Illinois. He was raised in Chicago all through childhood. Jonathan Cain was a survivor of a blazing fire in his school on December 1st, 1958, he was lucky because there were still 92 children and 3 nuns killed. He was brought up in a catholic household, hence the catholic school, Our Lady of the Angels school. Some of the most famous pieces that he and fellow band players have wrote include, Don't Stop Believing and Faithfully. These songs are written about personal events that have happened to the band or one of the members. He …show more content…
also wrote these songs through the years of 1980-present. He did leave the band for about 2 years but has been with them ever since. His life was filled and packed with many different bands and adventures that has made him the man he is today.
Jonathan cain has had a direct impact on his community in many different ways.
he received the Civic Recognition Award for his acts of kindness and compassion to his community. This award is not just given out to anyone. He is apart of a few selected people in his community that have had such a big impact on their community that they could not go unrecognized. Even though those few go unrecognized they still have the same amount of impact that Jonathan Cain did. Also, with his song Don't Stop Believing, he has created a song that everybody knows and can share with one another as one nation or community. Many people call it the world anthem because of how it conveys the meaning and how people take that meaning. This was also an effect across the globe in different parts of the
world.
Jonathan Cain was really close to his community and his band. He uses that in his writing in many different ways. He also writes about his personal life and what has happened or occurred since he has been alive. These things that he is writing about aren’t just world problems, but they are about his life and his struggles to pursue happiness in the world and at home. Jonathan also uses an abundance of imagery in his works that add a deeper meaning to what he is conveying. This device is used by many different poets, but for some reason Jonathan Cain loves to use it in almost every single one of his songs or lyrical poems. He also throws in hints of personification to give the objects more meaning behind the top layer. Personification allows us to give any object the trait or doing of a human being. Jonathan Cain uses many different poetic devices in his writing and uses a couple of them pretty heavily.
Jonathan Cain has had and is still having an adventure filled and musically inclined life. His life of music, from being a baby, to a young man, and finally to an adult all came together to form what he is today. By his life forming who he is it allowed him to write about those horrific events that happened while he was being formed. He has had horrific events happen to him from fires to divorce, which has happened twice, but yet he still goes to music as an escape route from those happenings. From the home life to record deals his life was a whirlwind.
