Josh sings the words “make me/ my mothers selfish son”(17-18). The repetition of the m sound for 4 words in a row is unusual in common English language. Because is it fairly uncommon in typical conversations, it remains in your head for a longer period of time. This is one of the catchiest lines of the song and is repeated 2 times and therefore is more memorable. Josh was aware of his selfishness because of his greater personal concern about his loss rather than his mother's debilitating experiences. He had felt guilty for demoting his mother throughout her life and is now feeling the suffering. Josh realized that he should have cared and spent time with his mother while she still had a viable memory. He feels remorseful and wrote this song to express his condemned emotions regarding his vanishing
