In the Rationalistic view, humans are rational beings with a purpose, the purpose is not from any immaterial sources, but found in our passions and desires. This view is secular in the eyes of religion showing that man is capable of finding their identity in there own way. There are two other
views, which challenge the traditional views and that is the Darwinian Challenge and the Existential challenge. Here we are observing processes in nature that may have caused humanity to exist from organisms over many years. This evolutionary account by Darwin challenges mankind's purpose and absence of uniqueness. This would also rule out all scriptures rendering them false, because of mankind heritage dating back to monkeys and not Adam. Existentialism denies human nature and claims mankind can make themselves what ever that want to make. We can create what we want for ourselves through our actions and free choices.
