The lead protagonists are often persons with shadowy romantic pasts that have made them lose all credibility when it comes to matters love. This is especially true of her male characters who start out as arrogant womanizers that suddenly meet the heroine and realize that they need to change. But change does not come at the click of the fingers and they will spend much of the novel reverting to character and hurting their loved ones. They try to change their lives around when they can no longer resist the wiles and heart of gold of their female lovers who make them see the error of their ways. The narratives are more on the sweet side though they do not have the explicit sex to be found in most contemporary romances. Nevertheless wheat they more than make up in heart what they lack in heat. Unlike many of her contemporaries who hide lack of story in a lot of explicit sex, Bennett manages to write quite great stories full of genuine characters and story-lines. In a way similar to the Nora Roberts novels, the characters will break the reader’s heart with their arrogance but finally make up for it when the novel culminates in the sweetest of …show more content…
Mia had left Bronson’s greatest rival to go work for his mother. Bronson is attracted to her but given his age old rivalry with her ex, he is suspicious of her intentions. But one night the inevitable happens as the two give in to their lusts and soon Mia announces that is expecting a baby.
