Julius Caesar: Dictator Of The Roman Republic
Julius Caesar, Dictator of the Roman Republic, is stabbed to death by Marcus Brutus, Gaius Cassius, Decimus Brutus and several other Roman senators on the Ides of March. But was his assassination really a surprise to anyone? Caesar had a wife named Calphurnia. Calphurnia allegedly begged Caesar to stay home on that very day fearing that something terrible would happen. Sadly her worst fears came true. Later that day a group of conspirators led by Marcus Brutus and Gaius Cassius, stabbed Caesar to his death. Several witnesses have stated that Caesar was aware of the threats on this date before the assassination.
