My Junior High years were filled with ups and downs. Now I don’t remember much from my junior high years, but I do remember my first homecoming dance in my seventh grade. I also remember when I first joined band in sixth grade. Ever since sixth grade I could not separate myself from band. Band is my home away from home and I hold it fondly in my heart. Another memory from band is my first parade. Through my junior high life, I slowly gained confidence especially after I picked up a trumpet.

Brown, we didn’t march we rode on the float and on my first year I was on the edge of the float. But, even though I was nervous, I just went with the flow. At first, when we started loading up I was just staring down at the edge and thinking about all the ways I could fall off. But when we started playing, I didn’t worry anymore and I just played my little heart out and enjoyed the float. After that performance, I had an immense amount of confidence in myself, and had decided that I was going to try to be the best trumpet in my section. Within three years of playing trumpet I could reach a High A. All of these stories have a common theme of me gaining confidence; in all my years of junior high and high school self-confidence got me through them.. I always want to reach higher and higher especially in band. Band is my life. and I don’t think I would be able to handle high school without it. Junior high was filled with lots of ups and downs but I got through it. Junior high and high school are the times of your life when you find yourself and your style enjoy them and do your best.
