Junk Food Effects on Teenagers
Recently people especially teenagers consume a lot of junk food in their daily lives. The consumption of junk food is guaranteed destructive to our health, but most of the teens still do not realize its effect until they are actually affected by it. Whenever you open your refrigerator you mainly seek something unhealthy without even recognizing it, it’s like we are only striving for filling our stomachs. Junk food affects your daily life. It even affects the blood sugar level of the body. It affects the impact on your sleep, studies and this may lead to stress. Healthier choices are required especially at the age of teens because they are still at a developing stage. Junk food mainly contains artificial flavors or fat (Fast Food for Teenagers: Effects of Fast Food).
Recently, I myself observed the impact of junk food. I started increasing the income of my intake in junk food. At the end of the week, my skin ended up with pimples and oil. I hand bad hair days, saw an increase in my weight and realized that my anxiety and tension had increased. I was not able to study as much as I used to do when I was not eating junk food. I always felt grumpy and lazy and when I went to bed I just couldn’t sleep. After that incident I prevented my interaction with junk food. Food from Starbucks, KFC, MC Donald’s, Burger king and other fast food areas are considered as junk food. A sandwich from these areas might contain about 600 calories it might take about 2 hours of workout just to burn that much fat. Beans, vegetables, fruits, lean meat, fish and eggs are examples of healthy food (University of Minnesota). All the products from these fast-food restaurants may also cause lack of nutrients and vitamins in the body, breakouts, and other body problems (PBS).
