As it shows, in the table below the information collected from 3 students in Ms.Collins 3A-4 period Biology class. In which is showing the data after trying twice the same activity for one minute; in which it supports the hypothesis from the investigation. (With and without exercise)…
Take your resting heart rate for three days then find the average for three days.…
Well first off, the test subjects (his family) are different ages and sexes so that affects the test outcome so he should do the same test on everybody because not everyone’s pulse is the same. If he changes that he will have results on all the subjects for all the types of music and he can see which music really affects a person’s pulse.…
The Physiology of Fitness Acute/ Short term effects of exercise Task… In 4 equal groups, each group will be assigned a system to research. You need to make sure your group researches your particular area thoroughly and covers the following responses depending on what system has been assigned. Your group will then present back the findings to the rest of the group through a detailed and informative A3 poster.…
First major Choreography “Jardi Tancat” which is Catalonian for “enclosed garden” by Nacho Duato performed in 1983 is based on Catalan folk tales. The work explores the hardship and sorrow of the Catalonian people as they struggle working in the barren, water stricken Catalonian land. Throughout Jardi Tancat you can see the presentation of contemporary dance, with a background of classical techniques; this is evident through the training accompanied. Throughout the performance you can see the influence of social, historical and cultural climate. Also the choreographer’s background, philosophical underpinnings, experience and intentions have an impact on the way the Nacho Duato’s piece came together.…
As a group, sit down to brainstorm, discuss and decide upon a social or political issue that you want to explore through movement. Examples of social/political issues are: homelessness, oppression, environmental issues, corporate avarice, racism, domestic violence, racial profiling, but there are many, many issues that can be explored in addition to those mentioned above. You may wish to bring in source material (a photograph, a poem/song, a painting, news clip, a personal story, etc., related to the social/political issue. Using the source material as a starting point, independently create a phrase of movement for yourself that is 32 counts in length utilizing at least 8 of the movement elements listed below. In groups, using your individual phrases as a starting point, combine, manipulate and abstract your phrases, adding formal elements, to create a dance composition. The composition should be between 3-4 minutes long. You may set your dances to recorded music, a sound collage of your own creation or they may utilize text (pre-recorded or spoken in performance). Silence is also an option. Try to avoid music with lyrics that describe your issue. You should aim to explore and portray your topic through movement, sound and/or text. You may also incorporate props, or costumes if these seem crucial to the performance of your dance composition.…
Exercise affects all people differently, specifically a person’s heart rate and blood pressure. After exercising your heart rate should increase and your blood pressure should decrease (Blood Pressure Association, 2008). The purpose of this lab was to determine which level of exercise would have the greatest impact on affected pulse and blood pressure. In this lab we tested how exercise affected heart rate by testing a random group of people with different body types and exercise levels to see how different types of exercise would affect their pulse and blood pressure. We had 11 subjects randomly placed into four different groups. Group 1 had to do a slow easy exercise, group 2 did a fast easy exercise, and group 3 did a slow hard exercise while group 4 did a fast and hard exercise. My hypothesis is that group 4 would…
1. Describe the social classes in the Middle Ages. Which class did not exist during this time period?…
2. As the graphs show, both breathing rates and pulse rates spike significantly between the resting rates and immediately after exercise. Average breathing rates went from 26.7 breaths/min at sitting rate to 46.4 breaths/min during or immediately after exercise. Pulse rates also increased quite dramatically, going from an average of 65 beats/min at rest rate to an average of 100.3 beats/min after exercise. As the participant exercised for a longer period of time, a change in skin colouration was noticed. Faces flushed to a pink colour at first and then progressed into a darker red as exercise continued. It was also noted that…
II. Problem/Research question – Your heart rate can be affected and changed using a variety of things. One thing that can cause your heart rate to change is the volume of audio. How does the volume of an audio track affect your heart rate? If the volume of an audio track is increased, the number of hearts beats per minute will increase as well.…
The method we used to test our hypothesis was rather simple. We first randomly selected ten people to be our subjects for the experiment. We then took their heart rate while they were in resting position. After the first testing, we let them listen one minute of classical music and recorded their heart rate after. A one minute grace period then went by to let their heart rate get back to normal. We then let them listen to one minute of heavy-metal music and again recorded their heart rate. After all the testing was finished, we then calculated the average change in heart rate between the two different styles of music. Finally, we recorded all the data and constructed a graph.…
This study is conducted in order to asses the effects of caffeine in the endurance of the atheletes. The focus of the assessment was on the caffeine on how it will work as a endurance enhancer to the athletes. In order to gather the necessary data, the researchers’ utilized the experimental method. According to Kendra Cherry, 2007, The experimental method involves manipulating one variable to determine if changes in one variable cause changes in another variable. This method relies on controlled methods, random assignment and the manipulation of variables to test a hypothesis. Furthermore, according to Megan E. Bradley, 2000, Experimental Method is a study in which the investigator manipulates (at…
College students are exposed to stress often more then an average person. In view of that, this experiment was conducted to investigate, how high stress level in college students contributes to the change from normal in their heart rate. We hypothesized that high stress level will increase the heart rate.…
TO investigate how exercise affects the pulse rate. To do this, we took our normal pulse rate and then compared it with the pulse rate after exercise (walking). We kept all other factors constant so as to study the effect of exercise on pulse rate.…
A study was carried out to investigate the effects of exercise on the body. Exercise causes many homeostatic factors to kick in, in an effort to maintain internal homeostasis. How exercise affects some of these homeostatic factors can be determined by measuring, observing and monitoring certain parameters. For the purpose of this study, the factors in which I had to look at included temperature, pulse rate and breathing (respiration) rate. In doing the experiment, I will be able to see firsthand the effects exercise has placed on the body i.e. deeper breathing and thereby will provide me with a general picture of how the body works and reacts in conjunction with exercise.…
