Juveniles can be placed in detention centers anywhere from a few days to a few month locked away just waiting on a court date. Some of these juveniles can experience physical and emotional stress as they are separated from society, family and friends. As stated in Romans 13:1-7, “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgement on themselves”. Juveniles should abide by laws just as adults and when they don’t there should be consequences however, the same consequences as adults shouldn’t be for juveniles. Teenager don’t have the same mind as an adult whereas, the way they see danger is different. Punishment should be different unless that troubled juvenile is a danger to society. The law should recognize that juveniles don’t have the mental or emotional maturity that adults have so that they can exercise good
