Critics of the said program cited different disadvantages that they deemed as the downfall of the said program. Many education advocates and groups said that the curriculum is half baked and that the government should focused first on the present problems that we are experiencing now, teachers in the basic education curriculum are not yet ready because of the subjects being taught in the College level are transferred in the basic education (Alliance of Concern Teachers and Teachers Dignity Coalition). In line with this, the notion of an additional two years of schooling does not seem to be appealing to parents who literally struggle to send their children to school. Being one of the pioneer teachers of the k-12 curriculum, particularly in the Senior High School, the researcher was puzzled because of the predictions that this implementation will add into the number of dropout students and will lead to being out of school, it seems that many of the students who are graduate of the old curriculum before the k-12 are being captivated in the senior high school and opted to enroll in the said program and not in the collegiate level.
