Issue:
Kambuzuma is a poor neighborhood on the southwest outskirts of Harare. In the 1000 single-family houses with three rooms, which were built in the early 1960s, now live 3 to 5 families per house. About half of the population is HIV positive in Kambuzuma or sick with AIDS. Often, the entire generation of parents has died from the disease.
Solutions:
KAITE dedicated local 30 couple to take care orphans aged 4-18 years. With 1.6 million orphans (one in four children) Zimbabwe has the world’s highest rate of children who grow up without parents. Some of these children are already HIV +. In way to help this family to able live and support their life, Kaite have given them work in garden which called as gardening project. This project was given to teach them in ecological herb and vegetable garden creates. The project funds and material received from German Embassy in Harare and “A World in the Foreign Ministry Association”. Kaite also help to build a water tank which is to irrigate the garden desperately is needed in the dry season.
Kaite also provide alternative classroom. In this class will teach them on the subject of health and bodies care. Kaite has create a child-friendly program “Home Care”. Parents and other school care is takes place in the program. In this program they have an opportunity to discuss about health issues and problems. All HIV, children and adolescents are participated in this program.
