His task was to take the worst team in NCAA division I football history and make them great again. In Snyder’s first two years did not really go as well as you would want them to , but with what he had came into was not all too bad. In 1991 Coach Snyder lead the team to one of its first winning seasons in 12 years and the first winning record in conference play since 1934. In 1993 Coach Snyder lead the team to the 1993 Copper Bowl only the second bowl game in the program's history and on top of it won the program's first ever bowl game win. Bill Snyder lead the cats to 10 more consecutive bowl games from 1994 to 2003 winning six of those. Coach Snyder's first term ended with two losing seasons in 2004 and 2005 when he retired. Coach Snyder was hared back in 2009 when the team did not have any success in the previous four seasons with coach Ron Prince. By 2011 Coach Snyder had the cats back on track with an 10-3 record and took them to the Ccotton bBowl. In the 2012 season they won the Big 12 conference championship. They also won the Big 12 championship in 2013 also going to the Fiesta Bowl. In 2014 Coach Snyder lead the team to the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
Coach Snyder took the worst team in college history and turned it into a national contenders. This is the main reason he is in the Football Hall of Fame, and the Kansas State football stadium is named after his family (Bill Snyder Family Stadium).
