Sitting in a room and writing music hoping to one day get noticed and become famous is what every songwriter wants. Seeing bright lights flash from cameras, having sold out shows and people buying your music seems like a dream. But this soon became a reality for a guy named Kanye West. Being noticed by a famous rapper named Jay-Z made Kanye West’s dreams come true. He has won tons of awards such as “MTV and Grammy awards.” “Kanye West’, biography.com, and was even on “Times Magazines 100 Most Influential People.” Time.com. Although Kanye West may not be the most influential person of all time, but his music has taken him far in life and continues to grow his career. Kanye West is best known for his album “The College Dropout”, which was a huge success. According to biography.com, this album sold more than 2.6 million copies and earned him a Best Rap Album Grammy. Before rising to fame, he lived with his mother in Chicago. After graduating high school, he went to college at Chicago State University, but decided to drop out because he wanted to focus more on creating music. After making music and becoming a producer, Kanye West got his break when he helped make Jay Z’s song “This Can’t Be Life.” …show more content…
He became interested in working in the fashion industry by creating his clothing brand “Yeezy”. In an interview with Time Magazine, Kanye talked about when he first came out with his clothing line and only three editors came to see it after the show. After asking his publicist if anymore editors were going to show up and telling him no, he told her “embrace this moment where no one came to see it.” “Kanye West”, timemagazine.com. Now his brand has become wildly popular especially his shoe line (whom he collaborated with Adidas), which sell out instantly.
