All in all, the short story “The Storm” by Kate Chopin uses symbolism throughout the whole story. Yes, an affair took place on the stormy night in Calixta’s house, but by the letter Alcee writes his wife later the night shows us that the marriage is refreshed. She explains the emotions of the characters before the storm as well as after in great details. Bobinot and Calixta as well as Alcee and Clarisse’s marriages were stronger in the end. “OH Bobinot!
