Katie Ledecky Quotes
Katie Ledecky
“Before you can achieve , you must believe, in yourself.” and “Don’t Practice until you get it right, Practice until you can't get it wrong.” (“Katie Ledecky Quotes”) Both these quotes are from Katie Ledecky. Katie Ledecky is a 2 Time Olympian, 5 time OLympic Gold winner and World Champion. Katie Ledecky loved swimming from an early age, and has had a very successful swimming career, because she trains in unusual ways, for a female swimmer.
Did you know that Katie Ledecky started swimming at the age of 6? She wanted to follow in the footsteps of her brother Michael. She attended Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart. She trains with Nation's Capital Swim Club(NCAP). Her teammates are Allison Schmidt, Leah Smith, and Maya DiRado. (“Katie Ledecky” Swim Swam) She was accepted to Stanford University for a swimming scholarship. And she now trains under Greg Meehan at Stanford. (“Katie Ledecky” Wikipedia).

Have fun, enjoy it because there's no guarantee you’ll ever be back there again.” (“Katie Ledecky Quotes”), she also said “You just have to want it more than anyone else” (Pinterest). Breaststroke is the slowest of all of the four primary strokes. This is caused by the unique movements that are part of the stroke cycle, that create a large amount of resistance. The breaststroke cycle has changed somewhat over the last two decades, due to the increasing involvement of technology to analyse how to effectively increase propulsion through the water. Through training about body positioning, the resistance can be minimalised so that speed increases, however resistance is a major factor in the breaststroke cycle. Breaststroke consists of a series of phases for both the arms and the legs. Leg movement consists of an outsweep, whereby the leg kicks outwards starting from the buttocks; and an insweep where your legs are extended and brought together in a propeller like fashion. The arm movement also has outsweep and insweep phases. The outsweep is where…

It is safe to say that almost everybody who follows the news nowadays has heard of the name Michael Phelps. Upon coming to worldwide attention at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Phelps has taken the sport of swimming to new limits, setting records that seemed impossible just years before. He shocked the world with his record-breaking win of eight gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, and also holds the record for most Olympic gold medals ever won. However, getting to that point was not easy, and required a high amount of diligence, an excellent work ethic, and an extensive support system. Phelps’ awe-striking performance in the pool has certainly earned him a place among the sporting world’s elite, and he will definitely be remembered…

One of my Elizabeth Gilbert’s favorite sayings: “Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions.” You become what you believe you are and this is proved by science and many experiences of international influencers around the world. Affecting other’s emotions is not an easy task. However, when it happens and you really put your fingerprint on someone’s emotions, this would create a great inspirational story that deserves to be heard.…

Roger’s capitalized on this by mentioning that, “ a headline by The Bryan- College Station Eagle, a local newspaper,...made a silver medal victory by Michael Phelps the top headline of its Sports section, with a subheading about a world record set by Ledecky.” Once again, this seems more like a ploy to get people to buy their newspaper than an act to try to undermine woman. By using Phelps as their headline, they are much more likely to get people to talk then if they were to put Ledecky’s name in big letters. I mean we are talking about a person who has been the most highlighted and anticipated athlete at every Olympics he has been too. Not only that, but I think it is worth noting that he is also the most decorated Olympian of all time, opposed to an athlete who is just getting their start. At the end of the day, newspapers are dying and they are willing to do and say anything that is going to catch people’s…
