Katniss Everdeen Character
The character I have chosen to analyze is Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Katniss is the main protagonist of the book. She has a very complicated personality. She can be extremely rude and bitter toward others because of here father's passing and her mother's neglect. But when it comes to her sister, Primrose, she is extremely caring and passionate. Katniss confirms this when she volunteers as tribute at the reaping for her twelve year old sister. Her best friend is Gale Hawthorne, a fellow member of District 12. Who also lost his father in the same mining accident as Katniss's and that similarity drew them closer. The two of them spend time rebelling in a minor way; hunting in the woods. The both of them do this simply

The novel that I am reading is “I’m Not Her” by Janet Gurtler. It is about the struggles a young girl, named Tess, goes through when she finds out that her sister, Kristina, was diagnosed with cancer. Tess has always been looking up to her older sister, because her sister was always the center of the crowd, sporty, beautiful one and Tess was always the smart, un-popular one. It was always hard on Tess, so when her sister was diagnosed with cancer, she felt as if she could finally be known. All of Kristina’s friends started befriending Tess, now that her sister wasn’t at school. Although Tess loved the popularity, she did have a lot of trouble too. Not a lot of people were asking how Tess was doing about the whole cancer situation but there was one person who was always there for her. His name was Clark. After talking days upon days with him, Tess began to want to be more then friends with him. But Tess also knew that she had to be there for her sister and didn’t have time to have a serious love life at that point in time. Then Tess met a boy from school named Jeremy. Jeremy has a little crush on Kristina, but is also now good friends with Tess. Tess was wondering why he would always talk about Kristina, and then he finally informed her that he always hangs out with her at the hospital when he is visiting his mother, who also has cancer.…

In The Hunger Games, twenty four children are chosen to fight to the death until there is one last standing. Rue, a 12 year old girl, makes an alliance with the main character, Katniss, until her abrupt end where she is stabbed through her stomach, resulting in her death. Rue’s death devastates Katniss, but continues the plot, making Katniss struggle through loss while attempting to defend herself from others. To contrast from this character committed violence, in My Sister’s Keeper Anna, a 13-year-old girl, struggles with the fact that she was born as a savior sister for Kate, her sister who is dying from leukemia. Anna get a lawyer and sues her parents whom want her to donate her kidney to Kate. In the end of the novel Anna gets into a car accident and is deemed brain dead. The author causes the car crash to further along the plot and complete the story where Anna donates her kidney to her sister. In conclusion, the Interlude and Chapter 11 of Thomas C. Foster’s, How to Read Literature Like a Professor have taught me to critically evaluate and categorize different types of violence found in literature. These chapters have also displayed the effects and reasons of why violence is incorporated into novels, stories and…

In the Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins, one of the main characters, Katniss Everdeen, had a problem with fearing for her survival. This made it hard for her to retrieve her food, water, and wound healing supplies given to her by sponsors. In the beginning Katniss had no confidence what so ever about coming out as champion or even surviving the games, but as the storyline continued more toward the end of book she seemed to become more comfortable with the idea that she could potentially die. This might be due to the fact that she had to push to stay alive for the sake of her 12 year old younger sister, but then realized that her sister would be proud of her no matter what. The characer that im going to do is scout (jean louis finch) is the character that i am going to talk about. My opinion of her is very hard to explain. She has some characteristics that i agree with, and some, i dont necesarily agree with. One of the characteristic traits that i do like, and what makes me like scout is, her curiosity, her curiosity has advanced the story in many ways, for example when there was gum in the tree knot hole. She went for the gum even with the possibility of it being poisened by boo. One charcteristic, that i dont like is the chartersitic of her being “romantic” with dill. This is sickening to me, since they are only 7. And this is why i do not like scout.…
