RTC provides storage for your computer files on the network. Saving your files on the network is safe and makes using RTC computers easier, since your files can be accessed from any computer on the campus. Do not save files on Computer Lab or Library PC hard drives. These computers are using software that will automatically delete your files if you leave them on the hard drive. To save your work you must use a USB Pen Drive, email yourself your files, or use the network S: drive described below. To access the network drives you will need an RTC network username and password. This is the same username and password you use to access your RTC email. If your name is Jigme Y. Thinley, you may have an RTC email address such as JYThinley@rtc.bt. Your login name is the part of the email address to the left of @rtc.bt. In this example the login would be JYThinley. Capitalization does not matter for the username, so you can login with JYThinley, jythinley, or even jYtHiNLeY. Capitalization does matter for the password, so be sure to use the proper case. To access the network drives on an RTC computer running Windows 7 left-click on the upward facing arrow near the clock in the bottom right corner of the screen:
When you left-click you will see a number of icons depending on which computer you are using and what software is installed on that computer.

Locate the red “N” icon which is the Novell Services program:
The Novell Services program is required to access the RTC network drives. If your computer does not have this program installed please contact the RTC IT Helpdesk and we can help you install it. RIGHT-click on this “N” icon and then LEFT-click on “Novell Login…” as seen in the picture below:
