Kevin Durant, NBA( National Basketball Association), he is a 1 time Time MVP, Rookie of the year, 5 All-star, 2 time Gold Medalist. Number 35 for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He plays Small Forward.

Kevin Wayne Durant was born on September 29, 1988, in Suitland, Maryland. Kevin durant success started with the PG jaguars, an amateur Athletic Union youth Basketball team in Prince George’s County, Maryland, the team won two national championships while kevin Durant was on the team. During high school, he played on the National Christian Academy and Montrose Christian School, they are both located in Maryland, he played for basketball powerhouse Oak Hill Academy, located in Virginia. After he graduated from high school he was named first team All-American which caught major college recruiters.

Kevin Durant received top offers from Division I colleges, Kevin Durant played with the University of Texas Longhorns in Austin. Russell Springman, a Longhorn assistant and Maryland native, had been in touch with Durant since his freshman year of high school. He was the one who recruited Kevin

In June of that year, he was chosen second overall pick in the first round by the Seattle SuperSonics. After being drafted Durant signed a $60 million, seven-year endorsement deal with Nike.. His 2013 campaign was called “one of the greatest shooting seasons in league history.” 

Durant has been named an NBA All-Star 5 times (2010-14) and to the All-NBA First Team 5 times (2010-14). He also led the league four times as NBA scoring champion (2010-12, 2013-14). During the 2013-14 season, Durant passed Michael Jordan’s record for the most consecutive 25+ point games with 41 games. He was named the NBA’s MVP for the 2013-14 season.     In 1989, Shawn Kemp attended Concord High school, in Elkhart, Indiana. Kemps senior year in high school he was considered to be one of the top four to five players nationally. He led his team to the state championship finals. He finished third for the Mr. Basketball award. During senior year he signed a national letter-of-intent to play basketball for the University of Kentucky. Shawn left the team November 1988, after being accused of pawning two gold chains that belonged to the head coach, Eddie Sutton’s son, Sean Sutton. Sean Sutton did not press charges, but Kemp decided to transfer to Trinity Valley Community College in Texas, but he did not play basketball for them. When Shawn Kemp was 19 years old he declared himself eligible for the 1989 NBA draft. The Seattle Supersonics drafted Kemp first round. Shawn was still young though and struggled to find his place in the NBA. He looked up to his former teammate Xavier McDaniel. Xavier mentored Shawn to help him find his place. Shawn Kemp, Nate McMillan, Ricky Pierce, and Gary Payton worked together and became very successful. During Shawns second season oh playing for the Sonics he picked up the name “Reignman,” meaning that he has power. In 1994 Shawn Kemp played for the US National Team in the FIBA World Championships in Toronto, and won a gold medal. (FIBA is French and stands for Federation International de Basketball Amateur, in English in means International Basketball Federation.) Shawn Kemp also appeared on a celebrity basketball game on MTV called Rock ’N’ Jock, where Shawn dunked on the young Leonardo DiCaprio. Also, during the Rock ‘N’ Jock he played one on one with Queen Latifah, she stole the ball from Shawn and made a lay-up! In 1995-1996 Kemp and Payton led the Supersonics to a record of 64 wins and their first NBA Finals since 1979. For Jordan’s 8th season, the 1995-96 season Jordan decided to re-join the NBA and wore the number 45 as 23 had been retired in his honour following his retirement. He decided to re-wear number 23 as it felt weird, so he got fined $10 000 for wearing a different number without telling the NBA and $4 000 for wearing different shoes.
