1. Intellectual factor- a child who maybe low in IQ or even a low ability student, they may also find it hard to multi task or even do homework to the highest ability. These children usually develop later on or if they are born with it, then they are put in to special classes for extra assistance. One must bear in mind, having low IQ or low ability doesn’t necessarily mean that child is special needs.

Physical factors- is related to appearance and deficiencies from birth, like visual or hearing impairment. Lack of nutrients, growth issues, these factors are considered very important for the staff to cater for their needs. Also, a lot of care is needed, so they can develop a bright future.

Mental factors- this is very important, recently a campaign has been running in schools about the well-being of mental health, so this could be stress from home school, or mental factors where a child has problems with behaviour and find It hard to adjust to the surroundings. Mental factors also play a part in attitude and development of character, so being fully aware of this important in terms of legislation and rights of children with mental health issues.
5. Emotional and social factors- a child is not willing to converse and ask for his /her needs. Being able to mix with people and developing a dislike of not being around people. Emotional factors, can also include, disliking a subject, or even the students around. If one school life is not enjoyable, they will not
learn.
6. Environmental factors- this includes, how well equipped is the school, and the student. Are the basic need and necessities in place for the child to learn in a safe and clean environment, we even witness war torn countries where children are deprived of basic schooling needs.

Child development theories focus on explaining how children change and grow over the course of childhood. To understand a child’s development processes. One must identify any problems that might arise, whether it is in physical, social, emotional, language or intellectual development.
