Key Person As A Surrogate Attachment

The term key person is used to describe someone who acts as a surrogate attachment figure when a child is received at a set in and is separated from their parents or carers. The key person has a special relationship with the child and the family or carer to help with the sharing of information and to help the child feel happy and comfortable. In day-to-day practice a key person will spend time with their key child during activities and when greeting them at the door. A key person will track their key child's progress and encourage them to try new activities while also meeting their needs physically and
