KFC also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken is a chain of fast food restaurants based in Louisville, Kentucky. KFC primarily sells chicken pieces, wraps, salads and sandwiches. While its primary focus is fried chicken, KFC also offers a line of roasted chicken products, side dishes and desserts. KFC is currently one of the largest businesses of the global food service industry. KFC is founded by Colonel Harland Sanders. Sanders passed through several professions in his lifetime. In early 1930s, he already opened his own restaurant and his restaurant was increasingly expanded, and then in 1940 Sanders devised what came to be known as his Original Recipe. He reached celebrity status in 1952, when he decided to franchise his famous Kentucky Fried Chicken recipe blends of 11 herbs and spices to the rest of America. By the early 70's, that special recipe reached Malaysia. KFC in Malaysia is in-charge by KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Berhad. (KFCH). KFCH was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 22 December 1980 as a private limited company under the name of Poon Guan Holdings Sdn Bhd.The Company adopted its present name on 11 July 1986 and was converted to a public company on 13 March 1987. The Company was listed on the Main Board of the KLSE on 11 November 1988. KFC Holdings (Malaysia) (KFCH) is an investment holding company and part of QSR Brands. The company, through its subsidiaries, operates 523 KFC chains of restaurants in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and 37 Rasamas chain of restaurants and convenience stores. It also involves in poultry production and processing, property holding, vegetable farming, baking and sauce production. The company operates in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. It is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and employs around 26,000 people. In year 1973, the first restaurant was opened in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman.
