1. Introduction
1.1 History of Buses
In June 2008, the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi (DoT) deployed a public transportation service in Abu Dhabi with brand-new, world-class and special needs-accessible buses operating in Abu Dhabi City and suburbs, Al Ain and the Western Region. In Abu Dhabi City, the bus service runs around the clock every day. Lower fares make the public transport affordable and comfortable.

2.1. Online Services
The Department of Transportation allows web sites to help you choose the bus appropriate for the trip, which will carried out by the passenger through followed the map in these sites, and he can know the itinerary of the bus and the time that is appropriate for him.
2.2. Ojra Cards
Passengers can buy the Ojra bus passes issued by the Department of Transport directly at credited selling points on Abu Dhabi Island.
The types of Ojra Bus Passes are:
* One trip ticket (AED 1 and you can used it one time.)
* The day pass (costs AED 3 and allows unlimited bus travel for one day inside the city of Abu Dhabi. The Day Pass is valid throughout the day of purchase till midnight of the same day.)
* Monthly pass (costs AED 40 and Monthly Ojra Pass allows passenger unlimited travel on Abu Dhabi Bus for 1 Month from the first date of purchase.)
* SENIOR CITIZEN PASS
DoT offers the complimentary Senior Pass to all senior citizens above the age of 60. The Senior Pass entitles senior citizens to free, unlimited, life-time travel on all DoT Buses.
Senior Citizen Pass may register online at www.ojra.ae , must attach with the application the following: -
• Copy of their passports
• A passport size photo.
Applicants will be informed to collect their passes from the Central Bus Station in Abu Dhabi * SPECIAL NEEDS PASS
DoT offers special individuals with the complimentary Special Pass which entitles them to unlimited, free travel on any of the Abu Dhabi Island Buses.
Special Needs Pass may register online at www.ojra.ae. , must attach with the application the following: -
• Copy of their passports and
• A passport size photo.
• Medical Certificate
Applicants will be informed to collect their passes from the Central Bus Station in Abu Dhabi
