Khalisa also learned that she was not even making an impact on the rural areas because it was said that the policies of a country do not always affect the rural areas. In fact, they were only making what they thought was an impact on the surrounding communities that could physically be in earshot nothing good was spreading about them. Things got so bad for her that when she was in public she was fully covered, did not speak, her family was being terrorized, and her life was even threatened, so she was forced to move back to her hometown. This was when she went to a different strategy. First, they went back and apologized and made it clear that they wanted to make it up to them. In the beginning, no one was believing them and did not want to work with them. Later she finally got a chance to make it right and they made an embroidery business and they were also getting educate on women rights and life skills and education. After 6 months the women would graduate and they would bring in new women to teach them the same values.
