The museum that I chose to visit is located in Tunica, Mississippi it has a short standing tale of important facts in regards to Tunica. The name Tunica comes from the Tunica Indians that lived there with the Chickasaw Indians. Even though the building is small it leaves a big impact of things for you to think about. Why, I was there I found out that the Chickasaw and Tunica Indians had possession of the land in the early 700B.C-A.D.1000. They produce pottery, and growing crops from the land along with cotton and other things. The growth from the land was used to make trades for their needs across eastern North America to survive.…

As you enter the cathedral through the central or royal portal, the eye is drawn to an amazingly inspiring ceiling. This is not unusual in a cathedral, since majestically tall ceilings are used to point the way to heaven. The chairs have been removed from the aisle that will take us to the apse, and we are unable to proceed directly down the aisle, as a floor labyrinth draws us to wander the famous labyrinth of the Chartres Cathedral.…

Not rare, but hard to come by, the kinkajou (Potos flavus) is a small, honey-colored, nocturnal rainforest mammal related primarily to the raccoon. On average, the kinkajou weighs four to seven pounds but can range anywhere from three to ten. To compensate for its small body, the kinkajou has a tail around twenty inches long. This animal uses its tail as a fifth arm, usually to hang from branches or help with balance. The kinkajou lives in the rainforest canopy of Central and South America spending most of its time sleeping in tree holes and rarely comes to the ground. It is rarely seen by humans because of its strong nocturnal habits rarely see it.…

Homelessness can be defined as an individual lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence (McKinney-Veto Homeless Education Act, Section 725). Because homelessness can be a short or long-term problem, it is difficult to accurately calculate homeless figures. The National Alliance to End Homelessness estimates that there are 634,067 people experiencing homelessness on any given night in the United States. This includes people of all genders, ages, races, and backgrounds. According to the Campaign to End Child Homelessness, 1.6 million children experience homelessness annually (2012). In total, approximately 3 million individuals are experiencing homelessness each year (National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty). Homelessness is a problem that is very personal. Mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, and veterans are being affected. We must come together as a society to work toward combating this problem.…

Passchendaele Is a small village in Belgium and is also the third battle of Ypres. The battle of Passchendaele was the most ineffective battles that took place in World War One. The conditions of this battle led to terrible losses. The losses of this battle only helped wear down the German army. The battle of Passchendaele lasted from July 31 to November 6, 1917. The battle of Passchendaele gave a leverage to Canada to become a separate nation. Whilst one can argue that the memorials in Carinthia are at risk becoming absent and overlooked, a number of them do serve an important purpose. A memorials primary function is to provide a place for mourning and grief; in instances such as the Holocaust many victims did not receive graves and these memorials allow surviving kin a place to mourn. Both the Denkmal der Namen in Villach and the Opfer für ein freies Österreich 1938-1945’ in Annabichl are prime examples of this commemoration. This type of memorialisation runs the risk of neglecting the importance of prevention in favour of commemoration. Memorials should seek to both commemorate and inform future generations of the past. They should encourage questions as to why a memorial was…

    Kinkajou Report

    • 928 Words
    • 3 Pages

The Kinkajou is the brain child of Patrick Lehoux who foresaw a potential for a simple and portable bottle cutter. The product caters to people who have an inclination for making artistic and creative “Do-It-Yourself” projects. Upon identifying its market potential, Lehoux conceptualized and built a working prototype. After many attempts and trials, he came up with a working prototype and signed up on the crowd-sourced financing website, Kickstarter to find potential investors. With an ambitious goal of raising $75000 in 30 days, Lehoux took the risk and developed the product which became an instant hit with the backers who chose to support the project financially. He successfully raised $80,946 on Kickstarter from 1087 backers. Lehoux outsourced the manufacturing to China as it was difficult for him to build, manufacture and ship the products on his own. After some minor engineering revisions incorporated by the Chinese manufacturers to ensure accurate score line on the bottles, Lehoux felt it was time to take the Kinkajou to the next level. He was contemplating striking a deal with the retail giant, Walmart to sell his product on a large-scale.…

Erikson was a Danish-German-American developmental psychologist and psychoanalyst, known for his theory on social development of human beings. He may be most famous for coining the phrase identity crisis. His son, Kai T. Erikson, is a noted American sociologist. Erik Erikson's lifetime interest in psychology of identity may be traced to his childhood. He was born as a result of his mother's extramarital affair and the situation of his birth was hidden from him in his childhood. Although Erikson lacked even a bachelor's degree, he served as a professor of prominent institutions such as Harvard and Yale…
