Most of my life I have been around kids, whether when I was a kid, when I started to babysit kids, or when I started working with kids. In fact, all of my jobs have been centered around kids; I am currently a swim instructor and have taught from ages 18 months to 56 years old; I was a lifeguard for 2 years; and I have babysat for over 6 years for ages 6 months to 12 years old. I have also volunteered in my community and in Cambodia to help better the lives of less fortunate kids. In addition, while I lived outside of the United States, during my middle school years, in Singapore, a majority of my friends were little kids. …show more content…
Later on parents started paying me to pick up their kids from school to drop them off to either their house or to their parents outside of the school. These groups children that I met at SAS, Singapore American School, helped me become the person I am today, and some I now live not even 2 miles away from even after moving back to Texas. While it sadness me to see these once bubbly little kids grow up to be not only fantastic human beings, but also be taller than my 5’1” stature, it also makes me deeply proud that I also have helped them become the people they are today as well. Without the support and general love these kids have shown me I wouldn’t know I want to become a Pediatric
