Kierkegaard was born in Copenhagen on May 5th on 1813. His full name was Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, his father was Michael Pedersen Kierkegaard and his mother Ane Sørensdatter Lund. His father Michael was a wealthy hosier and his mother Ane was a maid at the time, she was also Michael’s far cousin. Søren Kierkegaard was the youngest of his seven siblings. Ane was the second wife that Michael had and he treated her like the servant she was, he never respected her as his wife. His first wife had died. Søren’s dad
was a melancholic man and had a lot of guilt and he imposed this on his seven kids. His father believed that because of their last name which meant churchyard or cemetery all of his children were going to die at the age of 33 which was attained by Jesus Christ. Only Peter Christian and Søren lived beyond this age.
