The goals were not just to preserve and propagate cultural values like the Griots used to, but gain significant economic advantages among others. This was the main inspirations to the creation of a well-known animation film, titled “Kirikou and the sorceress”.
The original name of this animated film was in French “Kirikou et les homes et les femmes”. The film was originally released in 1998 and was made using traditional animation technique. The movie was a collaboration among companies in France, Luxemburg, and Belgium. Its production was in Latvia. Its studio exist was in Hungary. Kirikou and sorceress’s song was executed by a Senegalese singer called Yousson N Dour. The film as of today has other language version in Swahili, and Japanese. (Alchetron, 2014)

The use of animated characters as an alternative of an actual human being for the film is appealing to the audience.
