King Cake In New Orleans
A king cake in new Orleans is an oval shaped cake that has three colored icings. Purple stands for justice, green means faith and gold is for power. The colors on the cake were chosen for the wise men, who first seen Jesus when he first revealed himself to the world. Inside of the king cake there is a plastic tiny baby, which symbolizes good luck. When the king cake is served, the person who gets the baby is named king for the day and they have to hold the next Mardi Gras party.
