King of queens
Make way for his royal highness, the king of comedy Kevin James. Millions of people come home each night after a hard day’s work, and relax with you feet up and tune in with Doug Heffernan (played by Kevin James). That loveable luggish IPS delivery driver with a beer belly of gold, and the most adorable personality that has been on TV. I feel some honesty is in order here: I'm one of them people. King of Queens formula may be modelled on such golden-age classics as "The Honeymooners" and "I Love Lucy," but it has been in its moments of deviant behaviour that "King" really shined. The sitcom is based on a husband and wife who lives in the suburbs and takes in carries farther Arthur Spooner (played by jerry stiller.) Arthur is Doug’s living nightmare! I mean is it not your? Living with the in laws has got to be everyone’s, right?
Doug has a group of friends that probably make him look normal, and that takes a lot! There’s Spence who is a very geeky and has a million and one allergies, and doesn’t do well in the lady department but that is what make him such a loveable character. Spence shares a flat with Danny who is Doug’s cousin. Danny thinks he is Casanova when in reality he is more like a women repellent. Doug’s best friend is family man Deacon. Deacon and Doug are like two peas in a pod, sort of like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum in their own way. Deacon also works at IPS. IPS is you typical blue collar work place with lots of laughs, jokes and a lot of bro-mance!
Doug might be the immature and lazy one, and his wife Carrie (played by Leah Remini) an ambitious, aggressive sociopath but There's nothing unusual about that, I mean isn’t that reality? But the shows U-turn was that although he may have been lazy and full of harebrained ideas, Doug also happened to be surprisingly patient. And Carrie might have been a go-getter, but she was also selfish and shrill. Put plainly, Doug and Carrie were all wrong in just the right ways. They never had kids. They lied, got

Another important theme in “Dougy” is Racial Conflict. Racial conflict arises in the book when the white people think they’re superior to the aborigines. An example of this is when Craig is upset with Raymond’s dad because he doesn’t pull his weight at work and Craig never gets to see his dad. “Your fathers never here and when he is he’s always drunk, he never does anything.”…

Dougy experiences personal problems that leave him feeling worthless, hopeless and socially inadequate. The first person narrative structure means our understanding of Dougy is shaped from his perspective. Dougy does not introduce himself until chapter two and the use of truncated sentences and the language with negative connotations establishes his low self-esteem and the lack of identity, ‘My names Dougy. I’m nobody much. ‘Dougy is critical about his physique, academic ability and social skills, demonstrated through the personal voice and repetition of ‘I’ and the emotive use of ‘still’ – ‘I’m the tallest kid in the whole school but I don’t like that much… I’ve always been skinny, specially my arms and legs’.…

In this scene Melissa-Anne seemed to be quite controlling and also devious. She was quickly able to take hold of what ever was happening and turn it around to suit her and what she wanted. She also seemed to have power over Rodney and could convince him to do nearly anything, without it seeming as though she pressuring him. Rodney seemed to be quite childish and pretends that he is rebellious. He makes out that he gets drunk to try and impress Melissa-Anne and then turns it into a joke when he realizes that he isn’t fooling her. He also acts like an idiot when he doesn’t understand something or just can’t handle being serious. Donna thought she was mature and responsible but in this scene it became semi-obvious that she wasn’t. She tried to play the “cool sister” by helping Melissa-Anne and Rodney sneak out but also tried to be serious by telling them a story about herself. This revealed that she was irresponsible and…

Another big key point the movie hit was the sexuality. Seeking some examination connection, the boy is taken in by his siblings best friends, invited to their weekly "study group" by Doug. The others are less welcoming at first, especially the rich kid Randy, whose relationship with the late Chaz turns out to have been more intimate than anyone knew. They ended up being gay but in today's world they would just be discriminated, some states don't even allow gay marriage.…

The older Kevin’s narration both expands on the situation that we are watching and reflects on it through knowledge that he’s gained in the years since. It helps to offer a deeper level of depth than would be expected from a show with such a young cast. Kevin’s best friend Paul is the poster boy for the stereotypical nerd: a Jewish-American lanky young man with low self-confidence and what he claims to be an allergy to just about everything as revealed in the Pilot where he has to eat plain white bread at dinner with the Arnold’s due to being allergic to both meatloaf and salad. Winnie Cooper, Kevin’s constant love interest throughout the show, Winnie Cooper is depicted as being the epitome of innocence. In Kevin’s eyes, which are certainly biased, she is the perfect woman and no matter how many girls he dates throughout the series run, he constantly finds himself getting back with her. Kevin’s father Jack is a Korean War vet who now works as a management job for Norcom, a defense contracting company who Kevin’s sister Karen claims on a couple occasions that they manufacture micro weapons much to her disdain. Karen starts as a hippie in the beginning of the show and continues to mature eventually enrolling in College(“Growing Up” S4:E1). Kevin’s mom Norma starts out in a typical housewife role…

From the article “Is This the Promised End?” The Tragedy of King Lear, written by Joyce Carol Oates, King Lear is presented as someone who is “…overwhelmed by the authority of the title ‘King’… [becoming a] human being dying inside an archetype” (Oates 4). King Lear was someone who yearned for status and power, but never truly upheld any of the responsibilities that came with the title of being king. Because he was obsessed with keeping a royal façade, he disconnected with the ones dearest to him—his daughter, Cordelia—and in the process, even himself, as he “…attempted to escape his responsibilities as a ruler and father, while maintaining his privileges…” (Oates 3). In the case of Arthur, he is considered the modern day king—an A-list celebrity.…

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down, and I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there, I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-air. These are the opening lines to the intro song of the television comedy “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, that me and every 90’s kids with a TV has had memorized since the day we first heard it. Even as you read that first sentence, you can’t help but to rap the words, and hum the tune as you envision a young Will Smith spinning on his royal chair with the graffiti background. The effect of the lyrics and the music video to this intro song goes way beyond pure entertainment value. The music video and lyrics spread happiness, smiles, and even helped to usher in a new generation of kids with the carefree fresh prince mindset.…
