Jamie should be charged with Incest, a 3rd degree felony under Florida law. Florida statute 826.04 defines Incest as: Whoever knowingly marries or has sexual intercourse with a person to whom he or she is related by lineal consanguinity. Because Jamie knowingly started to have sexual relations with his 14 year old sister Cersei since the beginning of summer and this violates our Florida statute, he is guilty of incest under Florida Law.…
Kinship systems in foraging based societies provide support for all of the individuals in the band community. The San, also known as Bushmen, of Kalahari Desert are one of the best-known foraging communities in the modern world. They are also one of the most, tight-knit bands held together by kinship. In chapter three of Cultural Anthropology written by Barbara Nowak and Peter Laird, describe the kinship relationships of the San by stating, “A meal for every household is composed of items of food from each other 's labor; they are not strangers. Generosity in sharing maintains kin and social relationships while providing a safety net”. Each member of the San culture is not out for their self or themselves. Instead they rely in their kinships from the other members of their band, and surrounding family, to come together come together collectively to support each other. The San rely on the kinship they have with one another in several different areas of their lives. Three of the major areas include gathering and distributing food, deciding on who and when to marry as well as handling divorce…
Human behavior can be explored by taking a look at the different aspects of a person’s life. These aspects include the biological, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual. These aspects can help social workers better understand the background history of a person’s life and gather information in order to do an accurate assessment of a person. This paper does not intend to make an assessment but it’s rather an informative paper in order to discover and understand the various systems of a person’s life. Furthermore this paper will also focus on how these systems interact with one another.…

to take on the responsibilities involved in raising these children, a burden the state would have to finance should the children be placed in foster care. Such financial hardships may contribute to the complex nature of the child/caregiver relationship. In many instances, relative-caregivers can help prevent children from being exposed to chaotic or neglectful living conditions that perpetuate the possibility of problems in later stages. Relative-caregivers can provide the familial…
My grandmother encountered various forms of child fostering in her life. Kwun grew up with a distant cousin her parents took in after his parents died, leaving him orphaned at age eight. She adopted her oldest child, a victim of attempted infanticide, who was abandoned on the streets. In Asian societies, infanticide is a common practice for families who desire sons in order to pass down their family wealth. Kwun also simultaneously raised her sister’s daughter along with five of her own children when her sister and her sister’s husband relocated to Hong Kong. There was no difference between how biological and adopted children are treated, just like in clan families. To this day, Lin refers to her adopted sister’s children as her niece and nephew and my sister Elis and I address them as our cousins. We are just as close to them as we are with our cousins whom we are biologically related…
The paper published by The University of Tennessee, Children's Mental Health Services Research Center titled “Kinship Family Foster Care: A Methodological and Substantive Synthesis of Research” is peer reviewed paper in which the purpose of this paper is to talk about how studies made about kinship foster care (a relative taking care of the children instead of a stranger) have been incomplete or not conclusive enough. The article itself is not helpful because it is focused more on the methodology of other studies, but in doing that the paper provides a good summary of other literature about the topic and how kinship foster care can affect positively or negatively a person and gives the general tendencies that kinship foster care is having in…
The family dynamics of the TV show “Married with Children” depicts a dysfunctional, but yet understanding between each family member. Their daily interaction with each other would suggest lack of communication that is taken seriously in the family unit. The husband (Al- Bundy) and wife (Peggy Bundy) presented a disconnection between the two of them steaming from the dysfunction in their marriage. Al Bundy attitude towards his wife appeared to be one with lack of an intimate and emotional connection. Peggy Bundy appeared to have an unconditional love for her husband, but seems to be missing the love that she wants from her husband. Their relationship seemed to be functionally dysfunctional as they move through their everyday lives. Peggy and Al relationship seem to affect their relationship with their children Kelly and Bud, presenting as such of lack of respect for their father.…
Kinship care is defined as foster care. The term is currently used to define out of home placement. Kinship care is not considered to be a permanent solution; it’s more of a temporary solution. Relative adoptions however function a bit differently. Legislation requires relative care givers to meet the same licensing standards as non- relative caregivers, although the same services are not provided. Generally relative caregivers are not provided with the same financial support that non- relative caregivers are.…

Children, who are removed from their biological or adoptive parents, or other legal guardians, are placed in foster care in a variety of settings. They may be placed in the care of relatives other than the family members involved in the neglect or abuse (kin placement), non-relatives, therapeutic or treatment foster care, or in an institution or group home. Foster care is full-time substitute care of children outside their own home by people other than their biological or adoptive parents or legal guardians.…
