Kirby Harrison owns and operates a local golf shop. His local point of sale program allows him to manage transactions with his customers when they come to the store to buy merchandise. He has all merchandise at hand. He manages the local golf course, which he handles all of the bookings, including groups. Harrison wants to figure out how he can use technology to promote his business growth. Another goal he has is to make current processes more organized and more machine-driven.

Kirby’s business will thrive through IT. This system will absorb cold based software to keep IT cost down. This will also allow him to access his business from anywhere at any time. This will help him reach out and connect with customers that have any questions or concerns. Mr. Kirby would like to keep the software from running an overall knowledge base to a minimum. He has a point of sales system but he would like to improve upon it. He would like to try and incorporate all of Mr. Kirby’s IT requirements into a single system. This will make it easier on him to control business.
Security and Ethics
Mr. Kirby is to be able to combine with many different types of accounting software, bookkeeping, and marketing platforms. This could open up many opportunities for Mr. Kirby to explore and improve his business in the future. Password protection will provide an easy to perform and low cost solution for protection from any local intruder. Next, a firewall will stop any unwelcome user from retrieving access to Mr. Kirby’s network. Then, a security camera will capture any and all people entering and leaving the physical store. Lastly, a training program will be viable for future to be prepared for any threats.
