The first trait I believe we share is wisdom. Kitsune are considered to be very wise and omnipotent with the power of wisdom. They are revered and are able to tell the future. Kitsune are said to be able to see into the future and can see and hear everything and anything that happens anywhere in the world. In an essay describing the possession of people by Kitsune, the author describes kitsune as "It is said to have great foresight and in all matters to be far more knowing than man. There are good kitsune and there are bad. My personality can either be very magnanimous and amicable, or it can be misanthropic and forlorn. The kitsune have multiple types, the following quote from an analysis of a Japanese passage clearly demonstrates this: “The fox is mentioned nine times in the Shoku Nihongi: five times as good omens (one black and four white foxes), three times as bad omens (two wild foxes entering the Palace and (one howling fox), and one haunting fox” (Johnson, Far Eastern, 38). Another quote describes another kitsune as: “or perhaps byakko, white fox, which is always a benevolent animal” (Casal, The Goblin, 3).
