Kileo and Reo rode through the forest following the dragon's tail. Ash flew in their face. After a while they came to a cave. Kileo knew it was Rial's den. He jumped off his horse and stopped in front of the entrance. "Stay here, Reo. This is my task," Kileo said. "Good luck my friend. If you ever need me in the future I will be there to help you after this. I am in …show more content…
your debt. Now go finish it," Reo replied.
When Kileo reached the cave, he entered cautiously. He could hear the foul breath of the beast he hunted. He went around many large turns and finally he found a sleeping dragon. He took a deep breath for what he was about to do. “Rial!” he yelled. The dragon awoke and arose from his slumber. He looked over at the man who dared to enter his domain. “Who are you?” the dragon asked. “I am the son of the last Dragon Slayer you killed. I am Kileo!” he answered. A smile came across the dragons face.
“I will enjoy ripping the flesh off your bones." the dragon slowly walked over to Kileo. It opened it’s mouth and fire began to form. Then, it sprayed out at him. He jumped off the rock and landed feet below. He looked up to see the dragon coming at him. He got up and ran with his sword drawn, but was chased by the dragon where he went. Suddenly, he was thrown forward with force. He got up and stood to face the beast. He ran at the it as it let out a spray of fire. Then, it was suppressed by a icy force. Kileo leapt forward, cutting at it. Blood gushed out onto the floor
Kileo climbed onto the dragon’s back and impaled the beast’s scales. The dragon let out a burst of flames and leapt up into the air. It flew up all the way to the top of the cave, but then lost all it’s energy. As the blood of the dragon sprayed out on Kileo, it fell back down and crashed into the ground. Reo ran forward and searched through the remain of the beast. He found Kileo sheathing his sword. The two walked out of the cave and met back up with the horses. They continued their journey leaving the stench of dragons behind them; off to finish the race.

Kileo and Reo rode in their horses to the front entrance to the kingdom. Kileo immediately noticed the disappearance of the guards. "Something's not right," he said. Reo nodded. They strode in and looked up to see the city in turmoil. Broken stone lay about with no sign of life. "We must find the king," Kileo said. They charged forward to the castle. When they reached it they ran through as fast as they could. At one point on the steps Reo stopped to help some wounded citizens. Kileo continued on.
Kileo came to the throne room and saw it in ruin. The ceiling had come tumbling down on the place. He saw that there were several guards scattered about dead with a look of pure terror on there faces. The king sitting on the throne clapping his hands.
"Congratulations Kileo for winning the race."
"What happened here?"
"It doesn't matter, you must be wondering what your reward is?
Death."
Then the king started to move rapidly and then turning into a massive king cobra.
"Do you know why they call me the Snake King? When I was a boy my father was killed by a giant serpent. A witch had sent it. Before they left she promised me everything as long as I complete some tasks. You are the last task Kileo. She has seen your potential as I have. It can be deadly to our kind," the snake said. At that moment Reo came up the steps and into the room. The snake turned, distracted for the moment. Kileo immediately crawled for his sword. He grasped the hilt, but it was no use. By then the snake and noticed.
The snake lunged at Kileo with it's fangs out. It repeatedly bit at Kileo as Reo screamed out. The Mage ran forward with his staff and attacked the beast. He used various spells to drag the beast down. Finally, he plunged the bottom of his staff into the snake's head. It slowly lost life as Reo breathed heavily. He looked over at his dead friend. Tears rolled down his cheek as he saw the horrible
image.
Reo walked out of the room and was immediately attacked. A witch had sprung forward at him. He got up and battled with her using magic. He was repeatedly pushed back against the walls of stone. But, at the end he arose on his knees with great power. He reached out and his staff came flying at him. But as it came close the witch tried to use her magic to stop it. It hovered in the air as they both tried to bend it to their will. Reo then, grabbed it with his other hand. He sent of beam of light at the witch and slammed her down on the ground with magic. She fell unconscious.
Reo carried the witch out of the kingdom and into a prison carriage. As he closed it, he was approached by a young soldier. "How is it that you prevailed when all else failed?" he asked. "I have had the privilege of traveling with the greatest warrior of all time. Great power comes from great influence. And I will find yours witch," Reo answered. He got up onto the carriage and rode away into the land. He was now no longer just a Mage. He was now Reo Nightstaff. Tasked with vanquishing darkness when all else fail.
