Barriers in healthcare may include functional silos, individualism, poor means of knowledge capture, inadequate technology, internal competition and im-proper decision-making roles. Generally, there are a mix of structural and infrastructure barriers too which are coupled by the predominance of human ones - social, behavioural and psychological.[7]
Knowledge sharing barriers are categorized into three groups: individual knowledge sharing barriers, group barriers, and technological barriers.[7,8] In-dividual barriers are lack of time to share knowledge, time to identify colleagues in need of specific knowledge, fear of losing competiveness, awareness and realization of value and benefits. This can be explained on basis of six motivating principles of theoretical util-itarians; who values in term of return on investment, aesthetic or personal Motivator - who value knowledge sharing from the perspective of beauty or to the surrounding environment, social motivator who get out of crowd like those of extroverts e.g. the physician educators, the nurses and get their ideas, individual or the power motivators people who are constantly looking for advancements e.g. decision making authority and the traditional moti-vators are people who work for worthy cause, be-liefs
