Koalas are one of the most amazing creatures on Earth. With these little bear like creatures, there’s more than what meets the eye! By the time you are done reading this, you will have read about the life, the history and some facts, of a Koala.
Let’s start with some history! Did you know that Koalas are thought to have migrated from Africa to their main habitat in Australia? There used to be many Koalas on Earth, but then in the 1920’s and 30’s they were massively hunted for their fur. (Kras, 2010) This caused the Koala population to drop from several millions to a few hundred thousand. And since the year 2012, the Koala has been considered a threatened species.

However, they’re very beautiful.
Here are some more facts about Koalas! Just like humans, Koalas also have individually unique fingerprints. (World Book, 2002) Ironically, the human is the main predator of the Koala. Also, they can communicate verbally with loud hollow noises. Unlike some humans, the koala can sit for hours on end without moving. However, similar to some humans, the koala only eats leaves.
The koala is not a fast animal. This creature is one of the slowest animals in Australia, like the sloth. They mainly do nothing all day everyday. They’re one of the most boring animals made.
So as you see, there is very much about koalas that make them as unique as they are! They may not be the best animal, but it sure
