Koas And Dia De Los Muertos
Primary research was a way in wich I got the opportunity to know more about my family and the culture of my country. In this couple month, I have learned so much about the traditions my family has , now I know the true meaning of some of this celebrations. The most relevant traditions that I talk about in my previous assignments were Koas and Dia de los muertos. To continue with this investigation, I will focus my research on the way that people perceive Bolivian families and traditions. Also, I want to see If the way they see us, actually matches who we are or does not .To achieve this goal, I will do some secondary research on books, online resources, libraries and websites. One of my sources for secondary research is a Bolivian anthropologist
called : Jose Antonio Paredes Candia. I believe that the way he states the importance of “Dia de los muertos” will be really helpful to support the importance of the festival. Furthermore, I will cite Edwin Conde Villarreal and his book “ Pachamama” to support my first essay in wich I explained the importance of Koa in my family and the way that this ritual is crucial when Bolivians are going to make life time decisions. Finally, I will cite Eugenio Raul Zaffaroni and his book “ La Pachamama y el humano” in this book Zaffaroni explains how Bolivians try to fit their life routines with the beliefs we have.
I will also continue with primary research in my community, for this purpose I will make 2 more interviews to members of my community :my brother and father. The form of my essay will be a blogger form. My audience will be anyone who is interested in learn about Bolivia and our cultures. I have chosen to write in this form because I found inspiration in a British backpacker who travels around the world and once he was in Bolivia “he falled in love with the country”, so he stayed in Bolivia for much more time he was supposed to and he traveled the whole country learning more about our traditions, in his posts he accurately describes festivals and rituals in an engaging way. Blog style writing will perfectly suit my purpose of writing about my community, because I want to reach as many lectors as I can, a blog is an engaging way of discovering new cultures and inmerse the lector in “an adventure”.
