Swish! That is the sound of LeBron James and Kevin Durant trading buckets. Since they both possess freak athleticism and lethal scoring ability, LeBron James and Kevin Durant’s statistics are excellent for players their age. Due to his mastery of the game, LeBron James had a head start in the NBA. In fact, he was the number one recruit in the nation coming out of highschool. Therefore, NBA scouts wanted him to head straight to the NBA draft after graduation. He is also four years older than Kevin Durant, so his point total is higher than Kevin Durant’s. LeBron James’s point total is 30,072 points. On the other hand, Kevin Durant was the number two recruit in the nation coming out of high school. Kevin Durant played college basketball for one year at the University of Texas at Austin, and he is four years younger than LeBron James. Therefore, his point total is lower than LeBron James’s. Kevin Durant’s point total is only 20,222 points. Although it seems like Kevin Durant is far behind LeBron James in total points, he is really not. In fact, LeBron James had only 2,948 more points than Kevin Durant at the same age. Therefore, in the same season and at the same age, LeBron James had 23,170 points compared to Kevin Durant and his 20,222 points. Despite Kevin Durant being approximately 10,000 points behind LeBron James, he has been the NBA’s scoring champion a remarkable four times.Yet for LeBron James, he has only been the NBA’s scoring champion once. Kevin Durant’s…

These players are similar in some ways but have many differents like their body, skill set and the era that makes these players different but the greatest at the same time. Who is the greatest basketball player of all time? Larry might not be the greatest, but he definitely is one of the best players to ever play the sport of basketball. He is in the NBA hall of fame, has five national championship appearances and three titles. Larry Bird is one of the best players to ever play basketball because of his clutch performances and consistent shooting.…
LeBron James and Kobe Bryant may play the same sport, but both have different perspectives on how they play the game. First off, Kobe has more experience in the game, compared to LeBron. Kobe began to play in the NBA (National Basketball Association) in 1996. Which makes him more experienced with the game and his team. Whereas there is LeBron who started his career in 2003. He may be lacking in years but, that doesn't make Kobe to be a better player. Kobe has his way of playing as does LeBron. Kobe prefers the “pick n roll”, as LeBron enjoys the “slam dunk”. Kobe is more defensive, as LeBron is more offense. No 1996, Kobe was everything. To being called the “Black Mamba”, to being known to have his shifty moves in like of the Great…
Through the generations there have been many great athletes who have played in the NBA such as: Bill Russell who is considered to be one of the all-time great Boston Celtics. That is best known for winning eleven straight NBA championship, but he is not considered to be the greatest player due to the fact that during the time he played he didn’t receive the amount of money many people believe he deserved. Players like Allen Iverson who is best known for being one of the most versatile point guards in NBA history, but he is also not considered to be the greatest athlete in NBA history because he never won an NBA championship. Lastly Tim Duncan the power forward for the San Antonio Spurs who has won five NBA championships as well has made millions of dollars over his 17 career in the NBA, but he is also not considered to be the greatest NBA because Tim Duncan is looked…
His superior fundamental skills and his willing-ness to take over the game has been his specialty. All Kobe’s career, he’s been having jaw-dropping performances. 81 point performance against the Toronto Raptors in 2006, second ALL time scoring performance behind Wilt Chamberlains 102 points. The Black Mamba had his first back-to-back championship rings in 2000 and 2002. Then went on with his second back-to-back feat with Pau Gasol 2008 and 2009. After getting swept in the playoffs by the Mavs in 2010, Kobe came back hungrier then ever… Winning the next 2 NBA championships to cap off his great…
Shoot! And the winning shot is scored by...Kobe Bryant! Kobe Bryant has done amazing things, from helping his high school basketball team win their first state title in years, to winning a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics. Compared to Michael Jordan, I believe that Kobe Bryant is the superior athlete, because of his amazing scoring skills, his awesome achievements and his individual…
LeBron James or Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player of all time? That is the question that is constantly being thrown around in the media and in turn, to all of us here at home. For me the answer is quite simple, and I will tell you why. Jordan (MJ) is “the best,” nd LeBron is the second best, or is he? MJ won six rings and LeBron James won just one. Does that make MJ better or not? MJ played in the Bulls and LeBron played with Calves, then moved to the Heat. I like MJ because he was so good and never really showed off, he was selfless. I don’t like LeBron because he shows off too much and plays dirty. MJ was a team player and LeBron is ball hog. I know the NBA is way different now, considering that a lot of the NBA players are stronger. Well this evaluation can determent by the championships, skill, popularity, who had the better team. Maybe you can say MJ is better in the 4th quarter than LeBron or other way around. Other differences between MJ and LeBron could be that, Jordan had three seasons of playing college basketball with great players and a great coach. MJ won an NCAA championship and would then later learn how to lose in the same NCAA tournament. He understood how to win with great players and how to play with role players and make them better. Because of this, LeBron will never have the leadership ability of MJ. LeBron could not teach his teammates in Cleveland how to be better and to be a champion, he had never been there. But you can say that does not really matter because skill matters more than leadership. But does that really matter? So what’s more important “How their stats looked in their first year winning a championship” or “How they perform?”…
Kobe Bean Bryant is a recently retired professional basketball player, shooting guard/small forward for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He has worn two numbers in his career, number 8 and number 24. Throughout the 20 years I have spent with the team, he has built up an impressive list of accomplishments. He has won five NBA championships, appearing in the finals seven times. He received Finals MVP honors in 2009 and 2010, and along with that, league MVP in 2008. With skills, so far unriveld, Michael Jordan is a true icon of the American Athlete. His talents not only transformed basketball into more than just a game, but gave athletes of all ages the inspiration to someday become just as good as Mike himself. Michael Jordan's dunk inspired the youth and amazed adults all over the world. Love him or hate him, Michael Jordan was the best player to ever step on the court; his style and ability was unmatched to everyone in the game of basketball. His athleticism made him a god among men in the publics' eye; rivaling even the best all-stars from the NBA, NFL, and MLB. His athletic legacy lives on through one symbol, "Air Jordan". I recently went to a tattoo parlor and found out that the "Air Jordan" symbol was on their top ten list of tattoos to get. People are so amazed with Michael's skills that they tattoo this "Air Jordan" trademark on themselves,…
Michael Jordan is considered to be the most iconic person in sports history. Throughout his professional career Jordan built the blueprint to which all elite sports figures are critiqued. In 2002, a young man named Lebron James made headlines as he received the hype of being the next Michael Jordan. After Lebron's first seven seasons in the NBA, the similarities to Michael Jordan are striking, but a viable case could be made that the two basketball superstars are completely different as well.…
