kobe or lebron whos better
“Who’s better?”

Since Lebron James has entered the NBA people argued who was better between him and Kobe Bryant or who was closer to playing on the same level as the great Michael Jordan. People use the argument that Kobe is playing closer to Jordan’s performance level because of the amount of champion ships he has won 5 rings to Jordan’s 6 rings. For those Who Actually watch the game of basketball it is not about how many champion ships a person one for him to be a great basketball because there are plenty of NBA players who were great but weren’t able accomplish every NBA players goal of winning the nba finals like, Charles Barkley, George the “ice man” Gervin who was considered to be one of the greatest shooting guards of all time, “Pistol” Pete Maravich who averaged 24 points throughout his career without a 3 point line or Allen Iverson who every one can Honestly say that he changed the game of basketball forever, but that’s beside the point. I feel As if People should not compare athlete’s skill level by how many championships they have won but how well they actually play the game of basketball because if being great at basketball was all about winning championships then Bill Russell with an outstanding 11 rings would be the greatest person to ever play the game of basketball. In my opinion I believe that Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are on the same skill level, one athlete just has more experience in the NBA. Saying Kobe Bryant is better than Lebron James is not a valid argument because they play too different positions and their role on the basketball is completely different, that’s like saying Chris Paul who is starting point guard for the Los Angeles Clippers is better than Dwight Howard who is starting center for the Houston Rockets Chris Paul’s role as a point guard is to distribute the ball and set up plays Dwight Howard’s role is to be the defensive anchor, keeping the offensive team from scoring from under the basket. The Role of the

My brother Cam “thinks from the year of 2010-2011 that Derrick Rose is better because of the way he has pushed his team to 60 wins or more. Last season the Chicago Bulls was the number one seed in the NBA and following behind the Oklahoma Thunder in the second seed, because of Derrick Rose they were the number one seed in the Eastern Conference for two years and because of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden the Thunder was name the Western Conference number one seed.” This here shows you that Derrick Rose got all the credit while Russell Westbrook only get about twenty-five percent credit. “Derrick Rose is more clutch, because the ball is always in his hand when it comes down to winning a game but Westbrook on the other hand is the second option when it comes down to winning a game” Cam said, I told him that’s only because he have the scoring champ Kevin Durant which coach will always have the ball in Kevin Durant hands to make a play. “Derrick Rose has the ability to take over the game, by him being able to assist the ball he had to create more because of the lack of talent to take over games,” but every team has that guy who takes over the game and Derrick Rose is that guy for the Bulls but for Thunder Kevin Durant is the guy who takes over games and Westbrook steps up when he have to.…

So if they were so dominating, why didn’t they win more championships? You can be winning and smiling on the court but one thing trumps wins and loses: team chemistry. Wilt Chamberlain was one of the best big man the NBA had ever seen. He was considered one of the greatest and later compared to the great Bill Russell as well. “The Book of Basketball: The NBA According to the Sports Guy” by Bill Simmons, was a book only the Sports Guy could write. Save a few hundred pages for Simmons to inform the readers on how he became the basketball and Celtics fan he is today (hint: it was his dad choosing between a motorcycle and season tickets to the Celtics), why as a child he called himself Jabaal Abdul-Simmons, footnotes galore, his hatred for Isiah Thomas and Wilt Chamberlain, and many of the greatest “What-if’s” in basketball history. Other than that, Bill Simmons uses this behemoth of a book to indulge on his version of “The Secret” of basketball, winning championships, and gives his take on how the NBA Hall of Fame should be constructed. In a pyramid style ranking with five levels Bill Simmons has who he thinks should be where, as of 2009, and each level getting smaller and smaller due to the higher standard. It all ends with the 12 best of all time, sitting atop the pyramid like kings with Michael Jordan number one. Again there was no one other than Simmons to write this book. “You could dress me red, drop in into a Crips neighborhood, tell me that I have 12 minutes to start a high-caliber NBA conversation before somebody puts a cap in my ass...and I would…

Now I know for most, this seems like just a very impressive basketball resume, but for others it is more. Others see those accomplishments as an embodiment of what you can accomplish in life with that same mentality. Sure, the odds of winning five titles and becoming an NBA superstar are low. However, when you carry that “Mamba Mentality”, you can accomplish great things. Think about the millions of kids and maybe even some adults that Kobe has inspired to be like him, and no matter how dark it gets, there is always a light, and if you fight and endure, great things can happen.…
